RETROSPECT
---------------------
You know...this game wasn't as bad as I remembered it being. I'm quite happy with all the graphics except the background which could have used some jazzing up.
Again, for this one and Sunken World, I think the graphics are a real achievement. At this stage I was starting to get good at Photoshop, and I had mastered BitmapData in AS3 so doing great particle effects was a breeze. Good tunes were selected as well. I still think the menu screen.
In retrospect I think the game needed bonus to be more plentiful. Too hard. It's still addictive, but the controls are unresponsive, and the lives are too few. I should've given an extra life for completing a round, and it would've been great if I had an experience bar to gain the better ships, instead of forcing players to complete the (nigh on impossible) campaign. Shit, a little tweaking and this could've been a great indie game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Retro tribute arcade shoot-em-up. Try to complete all 8 levels and gain access to unlockable ships. Use the 'Mining' mode to get onto the leaderboard. Bonus power-ups include invincibility, extra lives, auto-weapons, an R-type style beam weapon, and a Tron-style lazerline unit that destroys anything in it's path.
Still available for licensing.

Appropriate graphic style is already the half of success. And you managed to do this. Since the end of January we've been cooperating with Kenneth Joy from UC Davis on the new Game Graphics course. In case you would like to apply, there's an official deadline.

how about you blow me instead?
Not bad...
The idea is pretty old (well that's true for most games by now) nothing inovating here but executed pretty solid.
The choice of music was good too.
The graphic style is a little inconsistent I think.Like the screen where it does tell you the controls which you see as far as I could see only once (make a menupoint with instructions maybe (most people dont read it anyway though)) compared to the gamegraphics itself.
The station on the mainscreen looked a little ill fitted too.
Overall its as good as the portal average.
nice job
very old school feel. Nice graphics, good control. keep it up.
