Thank you as well for all the reviews and feedback, as much as we want to reply to each individual, we are getting quite busy with fixing bugs and testing out suggestions for improvements so we apologise if we missed out anyone. Rest assured that we read through each and every one of the reviews though, so your voices and feedback are definitely heard!

- Update -
21/5/11 - Added error message for players who experience the bug in some browsers where more than one Flash is running
20/5/11 - Fixed album art bug

Note: After much investigation and research we finally found out the problem where some players cannot play the game in some browsers. Unfortunately this problem lies in the Adobe Flash plugin, and is caused when more than one Flash is running (including advertisements). The bug is in the computeSpectrum command, which we used in our game. Adobe has already been notified of the bug and a detailed bug report can be found here: a/browse/FP-147

This problem is most prominent in Google Chrome, whereas most players with Firefox and Safari are fine, although some did reported the issue. (An update to the Flash player should solve the issue in Firefox / Safari). So far there have not been complaints for Internet Explorer.

The game now traps the error and provides instructions on how to work around it. A workaround for this problem is to either close any other Flash running, or run the game in a different web browser. Alternatively PC players can also download the game from

It has been an arduos task trying to fix this elusive bug, and we're pretty disappointed that in the end we need to depend on Adobe's fix, which obviously will take some time.

Very sorry for the inconvenience caused. We hope that Adobe resolves this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

Best Audio-Surf-like game i have played!

keep up the good work, i reckon to add more characters into it, and hardcore options for playing the music, would be great! but as far as i can see, good game you have made :D!

Great, but could be...cheaper

As a fan of TouHou, I really enjoy crazy, hardcore action with amazing patters, and I gotta say, this trial is amazing.

There are some things I find amazing, and some I find disappointing:

The Good:

-Great visuals: The graphics are great in almost every way. The character sprites and bullets look amazing.

-Great hit detection: The way a bullet hell should be, your hitbox is in the direct center and small.

-PowerUp/Life: Choosing between Life, Power and Bomb is a nice touch, making you choose what you would want, in sacrifice of something else. That makes it different from other games.

-Music detection: This is the deal breaker, and nailed it. Patterns dependent on the song chosen, and reacts to the chosen song. Applaud given.

-Controls: I like playing on my keyboard with the arrows, rather than mouse. (For me, it allows me to be more precise)

The Bad:

-"Choosy" Programming: I couldn't load a couple of my favorite trance/hardcore genre MP3s, but some went thru. I can only guess this is a programming error, so I hope things are different in a more current build.

-Lack of "trial" content: I understand this is a trial, but a taste of the "Graze" style fighter would have been interesting for me to try. (Again, because I play TouHou) Also, the same boss over and over can really dull the experience, because you can tell how he'll attack.

-Price of actual game: For such an independent game to cost so much off the bat, I would call it...greedy. I understand ALOT of effort was given to produce this game, but I wouldn't justify your cause with a pricetag you have set at the moment.

I'm no business expert, but I would imagine a lower price would be better (for the time being), that way, exposure can be built and attention can be drawn back to you. If need be, produce another build of the game, and sell "additional" content as DLC. (I.E. Extra bosses, fighters, etc.)

9/10 for me. A great experience, especially to play your music in a Bullet Hell, but a pricy game for an up-and-coming company is something that should be reconsidered.

Keep up the good work and I hope to hear from you guys in the future!
Good luck!

Great feedback and suggestions, Onewinged1! Just a note that due to Flash's security settings, we are unable to just play an mp3 off anyone's pc straight away. Our workaround was to read the raw byte data, parse and recreate the music on the fly. Despite our efforts to ensure all encoding is fine, there are some elusive bugs with certain mp3s so you might find that a small number of mp3s don't work. We apologise for that and will work hard to find out the problem and fix it. In the mean time you can try the download version, which has better support for all mp3s and other formats such as aac, m4a, flv and mp4. We also understand the concerns regarding the pricing. We are not trying to make big money out of it, just that we need some revenue to keep the company going, and the price was decided after researching prices of games of similar genre and format. (The price includes the download version as well). Of course, your feedback is important and we will definitely review our game and take all suggestions into account. Thank you for playing and great that you enjoyed the game!

love it

as a man of rhythm, it's a great idea to make this game and I realized that it does run by the beats, if not, the sound waves, the louder it gets, the crazier it gets.
I had loads of fun and mex1ken has a good idea there
try to fix the bugs in the game, but I only fix it by refreshing the page.
I Kinda regret playing the craziests songs in my library(builder - hardstyle market, spor 1-up) in the resonance stage, died nonstop.

overall a 9/10, good job!

its good, good enough to keep playing

I love the graphics and the main character looks pretty good. But for the amount of money you are asking it makes it hard to take as a purchase. But if any of you have played on that console system with the Green x then you would know that there are games you probably purchased for about the same. All in all good game keep it up. Only one star less due the absence of mouse control option.

As an idea (since i have seen your web page) i would suggest allowing us to not only to get a different suits but also a character mod ability. ieg. Different shot patterns preset at suit selection, maybe some unique bombs that we can purchase as well as guns :), make sure they show on the suit at selection looks nicer that way. Also you can add wing men, call them "Melodies", that can help us out for a time, that either have to charge up to reuse again or just have them there after in game purchase. If you do have them charge up then offer recharge speed mods as well. Slots for all mods at Suit selection, limit the amount of course at the beginning and allow for slot purchases... Well those are some ideas i have tons of them PM if you want more. Good luck!!

Tzai responds:

Hi mex1kan, great suggestions you have there! We will look into them and if they don't make it into this game we will definitely be considering them for future games / sequels. Thank you for playing and your feedback!

didn't match the music

My music did not match what was coming out of the enemy ship's guns.

Tzai responds:

Hello beakerboy, sorry that you didn't get a good experience out of the game. While we spent lots of effort to make the bullet sync well to the boss, we had to take note of balancing issues to cater for a bigger audience. The music syncs a lot better in later stages where the bosses are harder. They fire more bullets and crazier patterns when given an intense track. Thanks for your feedback!
