GTD8 - I Hate Windows

Share Collapse

Author Comments

In the 8th installment of Going the Distance, aliens have started to throw windows at Earth like a bunch of douchebags. It's time for Mr. Shen to try and reach them to negotiate... WITH FISTS. Featuring music by Pendulum because I love them so much.

it's a fun little game but...

- the upgrade system needs some work, make more upgrades like health, toughness etc. etc.
- the surrounding gets a bit lame over time, just make sometimes a birty pass by ( or a mini game, would also be fun)

farther I found it to be a very enjoyable game, keep it up!

Bug

You may have missed a bug: the windows do no damage to your character.

Health bar

Veery funny joke with the health bar. Har har. I'm laughing my ass off.
Not bad game.

Imbalance becomes a fun killer.

The game has potential to be really cool. But the one thing being a serious boon to GTD8 are the controls and game speed. Sure, we can move all 4 cardinal directions but there's an imbalance in the character movement speed:vertical speed scrolling speed ratio. It becomes frustrating despite you're in a good spot, far bottom, and get the read where a block is, you can't dodge it simply because your character is too slow. Your animations are good and I do approve of the music. It shows you can do something cool with flash.

Fix up the ratio and the game will no longer hold that negative weight.

alexandersshen responds:

Ah, you have to get the speed upgrades which unlock over time. It eventually reaches a comfortable speed where not only are you faster, but your distance increases faster as well.

no sense

what does windows have to do with boringly flying around through glass
