This game is a remake of the popular Text Twist game. I enjoyed trying to learn the trie data struct and also making it themeable using bitmapdata. Anyway, you play like folllows:
Given a six letter scrambled word, try to solve as many three, four ,five, and six letters words as possible.
You start with 25 seconds, and each correct word submited adds to the clock.
Bigger words add more time.

SEE BOTTOM FOR KEYBOARDS CONTROLS!

The clock starts as soon as you click a letter. If you click "new word" button before the clock starts, you will be given a new scrambled word to work with.

After clicking letters to spell your word, click submit to check it. If correct, it will be displayed on the board.

Press shuffle to re-scramble the letters, and maybe it will give you a hint for a word.

Press last to load the last word, handy for speedy spelling of words like RAT, RATE, RATES.

Press clear to clear the selected letters.

The game has a pause button to allow for interuptions, but the screen is covered while it is paused.

There are two arrows at the bottom right to allow you to select different themes for the game. Have fun.

KEYOARD CONTROLS:
Press a letter to select the leter.

"ENTER" to submit a word

"SPACEBAR" to shuffle the letters.

"CTRL" to to clear the board.

"SHIFT" to pause the game.

"BACKSPACE" to load last word.

Press left or right arrows to change the theme.

Press down arrow to select a new word before clock starts.

eh it was ok

Its not very original. To improve, I would leave all the words up after you lose, so we can see what the possibilities were. Also, you should be able to input letters with the keyboard. If not that, then allow a little more time.

All this advise is gold. I will try to implement these suggestions, especially timing the leaderboard at the end and adding keyboard support. Never thought about laptop users.

Thanks so much. I'll try to upload a newer version here soon.

UPDATE! Got rid of the leaderboard automatically poping up. Now have option to submit. Also added keyboard support.

Interesting take on a classic

I love these kinds of games, and I like the use of time bonuses as a key part of the game. It made me think a little quicker than I would if I were simply playing Text Twist. However, this kind of game would benefit a lot from being able to interact with it via keyboard. As a laptop user (yes, I could get my mouse out, but, like others, I am lazy :P), I got a bit irked by using my touchpad. This may be difficult to execute with programming/scripting, however; luckily, it's definitely not a deal breaker. Thanks for the puzzle gaming fun :)

It ok but....

Would be better if after a lose the answer dont go away so quickly the sumbit score to whatever website that is that pops up comes waaaayyy too fast like half a second lol it would be nice to see what dumbass mistakes I made and what easy words I simply brain fart on

looks good

I'm not really good at it but it looks like a good puzzle game.
Maybe make difficultie settings for lesser puzzle solving peoplez

Like myself
