Picos Quest

Thanks for the Frontpage! This one was for you!

I wanted to make something for Pico day but I couldn't think of what to make. So of course I had to make a text based game. Something inspired by countless hours playing Sarien.net games like King's Quest and The Black Cauldron.

-You can view the items in your inventory by holding the
[ctrl] button

-Play the game by pressing an arrow key to start moving, and
the same arrow key again to stop. Type things into the box
and press return. Type 'help' for a list of commands

-You can look at things or examine your surroundings by
typing things like "look rock" or you can just type "look"

-You can talk to people by typing things like "talk man" or
"talk darnell"

-You can obtain items by typing things like "get food"

-You can do stuff with items by typing things like "use map",
"give apple", "throw bat", or any other verbs before the
item you intend to perform that action on

-You can control the speed of the player by pressing - or +

-You can turn off the music by typing 'mute'

Make sure you look at everything and explore every inch the game or you probably won't be able to figure out how to beat it. I tried to dumb it down a bit, though.
Also, if you click off of the game screen and are coming back to it, you don't have to click on the text box to be able to type into it, just click anywhere on the game and focus will be brought to the text box. Isn't that cool?

Big thanks to all the people that tested it and helped me make it better. And if you find any bugs, PM me with the details. I would be most appreciative.

An excellent tribute to both Pico and King's Quest! This game is good for a few laughs, or if you just want to have some fun typing things in to see what the game says. Great job on this game!

pretty damn cool

nuff said, takes a lot of work to make a text based RPG. I tip my hat to you sir

I typed "poop"
And it goes
"You're not playing Don't Shit your Pants. This is Pico's Quest."
That made my day!

The game is great, but 2 things that kinda bothered me:
1- Why is there a map if you can't use it?
2- Some maps looked like wormholes, after entering in one screen, if you go back through the same path you entered, instead of going to the previous screen you end up in a totally different/random part. It happened mostly in the lake screens and while going left and up.
And also, at the end, I couldn't get to replay the game,so I had to refresh the page.

Magical-Zorse responds:

Why would you want to replay it?

O my god

What's that guys name?
