Thanks for the Frontpage! This one was for you!

I wanted to make something for Pico day but I couldn't think of what to make. So of course I had to make a text based game. Something inspired by countless hours playing games like King's Quest and The Black Cauldron.

-You can view the items in your inventory by holding the
[ctrl] button

-Play the game by pressing an arrow key to start moving, and
the same arrow key again to stop. Type things into the box
and press return. Type 'help' for a list of commands

-You can look at things or examine your surroundings by
typing things like "look rock" or you can just type "look"

-You can talk to people by typing things like "talk man" or
"talk darnell"

-You can obtain items by typing things like "get food"

-You can do stuff with items by typing things like "use map",
"give apple", "throw bat", or any other verbs before the
item you intend to perform that action on

-You can control the speed of the player by pressing - or +

-You can turn off the music by typing 'mute'

Make sure you look at everything and explore every inch the game or you probably won't be able to figure out how to beat it. I tried to dumb it down a bit, though.
Also, if you click off of the game screen and are coming back to it, you don't have to click on the text box to be able to type into it, just click anywhere on the game and focus will be brought to the text box. Isn't that cool?

Big thanks to all the people that tested it and helped me make it better. And if you find any bugs, PM me with the details. I would be most appreciative.

It is a nice idea but...

I really like the idea of the game. But it is lacking so much stuff to make it into a good game.

The art of it is simple and easy, not really hard work and not really something I can enjoy seeing for hours on end. It you can make the pixels a bit smaller to show more color and details then you have a good game.

The controls is new and close to the computer geeks life. Where you have to type "codes" in order to give an output action. Of course, I like it because it is new, but I don't like it because it doesn't give me full control on my character. Heck I don't even know what I have half of the time in my "bag" that carries the stuff I get.

Talking to people is nice, but as a map-maker and game level designer it tells me that your too lazy to create any more lines they have. The most lines they give me was up to 3 and not isn't very fun. If you can add more lines and a way for me to reply then I can understand what I can do and where to do it.

The sound is good, but it is also good to add different mixes to a long going game. As far as I can tell, this game can take up to 20 minutes and maybe more if you have no clue what to do. Listening to the same beat really kills my soul.

Other than those, you have a really nice idea. You just need to add more hours into your work.
