Arrow Keys - Move / Aim
Z - Shoot
X - Jump
C - Change Weapons
Spacebar - Pause / Open Map

You can also use WASD to move and JKL to shoot/jump/change weapons, however on some browsers/keyboards you may run into issues with too many keys being pressed at once, nothing I can do about that.

Saving - Progress through the stage is saved automatically at every major checkpoint. If you have to leave and come back, your progress will still be there!

Bugs - If you do find a bug, please report it to me via PM. Be as descriptive as you can, I can't fix things if I don't know what went wrong!

Sticky Keys Bug - If the keys feel like they're sticking, character keeps running after you let go, please read the third post in this thread: /bbs/topic/1123318
This is a bug with some browsers/systems and there's really nothing I can do to fix it.
Well, this is it, the final stage. I hope those that have enjoyed the game up until now agree that I've saved the best for last, just don't expect the journey left to come to be an easy one.

Great Game

In my book, You get an 8/10 for this game. The story line was great, and the game itself was a challenge. However, the animation could've been better, and you could've been more descriptive on what the orbs actually do. The voice-acting overall was excellent and the bosses of the game were kind of annoying, but in a good way. I'm glad that this isn't one of those one level, extremely easy games.

Took me forever to beat this game (ugh :P)

well i hate u

There I beat it! That f@king monster drove me nuts and i dont mind hard or no pattern jumping and he was very smart and easy to kill if double jump and wall kick worked right. Until we get db jump control was perfect. I ended up in previous screen numerous times because was pressing right, obviously because of going fwd, and get wall kicked back to other screen. You went a bit too crazy on bosses at the end and I see the shotgun was nerfed and its ok now, I find most useful weapon for killing bosses the rocket. Well done all of you, congrats on this fine series.

Like a lot of people, I've decided to leave my review until I finished all 6 stages. I thought the whole thing was totally awesome. I'm definitely a retro gamer and the whole style and content of the game really appealed to me. Here' s a few particular points I'd like to raise.

Weapons - I thought the weapon system was great, a good array of weapons which, rather than any one being better than the others, all worked well for different situations. I also thought the pace of the jump upgrades was nice too.

Story - I'm afraid I'll agree that this was pretty naff, but it did lead to...

Variety - The variety of types of gameplay was absolutely the best thing about this game for me. Mainly a platform shooter, but sometimes a scrolling R-type kind of thing, plus all the other features like the lift sections, bits where you were on the bike, even just variations like having the wind as a factor all added to it for me, along with the frequent changes of scenery. My favourite bit was the boss in one of the previous stages where Mizar was after you in her ship. I loved the whole part where you were stood on her ship, trying to get her to attack herself. Brilliant. I also liked the way the map never quite told you exactly how to get somewhere, left a nice few surprises. And I liked the way you often had to exit a stage after defeating the boss. I always hated it in games when you'd finish a boss and then be magically teleported somewhere else!

Bosses - speaking of bosses, these were awesome although I felt they got a bit predictable towards the end of the game. Oh well, I guess that's a pay off for having so many cool bosses, and I really enjoyed learning how to beat each one. The only thing I think could have improved these would have been to have more 'puzzle' bosses, where rather than just shooting and dodging, you actually had to work out how to hit them (like shooting scenery into them, or so on). There were a couple like this, but I would have liked to have seen more of this type.

Difficulty - Ok, yes, it was tough, even on normal mode. But get over yourself, it's meant to be a challenge, and no it was not 'too hard'. All these people whining that you should be able to save whenever you want! Come on, it saves automatically and there are plenty of saves, plus some of the longer bosses had sub-saves to make them easier! A while ago, you'd have had to get through an entire game of this type with 3 lives and you put time in and just did it. Then you felt good when you finally won, and it's enjoyable to do because the gameplay is slick. And another thing - making this a mouse-shooter would have ruined it. Sure, it would have been nice to stand still and shoot diagonally, but whoever it was said the baddies had an advantage in this respect needs their head reading. The baddies just sit there and get shot, that's it. Learning some agility with the keys and being able to dodge while lining up accurate shots is part of the fun. (Regarding some previous reviews, I went back in the game to get to Mizar quicker at the end, to have more time to beat her. When I reloaded, I started on Mizar but with only two minutes. I still beat her and escaped on normal mode, so it is possible.)

The one thing I would take issue with was the system of health bonuses. These seemed completely random which was odd because sometimes you wouldn't get any and sometimes you got loads - I'm sure there were a few sections of the game which I only really beat because the time that I did, I happened to luck out and get some extra health. Also, sometimes you really needed extra health and you got it, but if it was a baddie on the ceiling you'd shot, you wouldn't get the reward. Again, I found this frustrating - could the health not fall to the floor so you can always collect it?

That's about it from me. Sorry it's a long review, but hey, it's a long game. Really good work, I enjoyed every minute, and will probably do it all again sometime.

The best shooter platformer game.

I've beaten all 6 parts and I have to say... Voice acting is awesome, bosses are awesome, gameplay is awesome.... If you combine all 6 parts together, there'll be one long game with commercial quality. But the Alcor part is one hell of a "major checkpoint". C'mon, you can cut it to two or something. Fighting all 5 forms of a furious boss will take a long, long time... And Kenxeus, to answer your question, ESCAPE FAST and have more time to beat Mizar. I've beaten her on Normal and I don't have much difficulties and atmosphere because I have approx 3:20 to beat her and when I beat her, there's still more than 1 minute left.

A surefire winner

I decided to write up this review untl I went through all of the stages and all i can say is daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. An outstanding shoot em up to say the least. controls were on spot, graphics was just a lil too bright, maybe tone them down a bit. gameplay was beautiful but the boss battles. now those made me sweat, especially the fight with alcon. good lord I lost count on how many incarnations i had to take out but it was an epic fight. If you decide to do a sequel, have more weapons and alot more stages. I'd said it once and I'll say it again. this game is a surefire winner in my book.
