Decent game for a quick bit of fun

Unsurprisingly, it's pretty repetitive, but that's to be expected from a survival game with no movement and a constant flow of identical enemies.

However, I have two questions about the game.
Firstly, could returning to the menu actually return us to the menu instead of making us start from after we hit the play button? Or is seeing your logo just when we start the game not enough?
Secondly, what inspired you to use the alternating between A and D to fire, rather than either one? I'm assuming doing it this way made it more challenging, since being able to fire each side independently would potentially lead to just spamming bullets. However, I figured the cooldown was being implemented for the same reason, and needing to shoot where there are no enemies just so you can fire again towards them seems a bit odd.

Otherwise, it's simple, but not bad by any means.
