not nearly as fun as the first one, directional controls for the weapons suck for how much you have to move in order to avoid enemy fire, and stage 2 is a pain people with less than excellent skills will find it very hard to impossible to pass. if you do any more this type of battle consider a new control setup that allows you to shoot behind you without moving backwards.
Okay...finally finished it.
That first part of stage 2 was a real challenge. Very frustrating, you amped the difficulty quite a bit even on easy, I cannot do it on Hard. However, once you get by that first part, I think I could have handled Hard Difficulty for the rest of the game. Anyone worth their pants who can finish the NES Castlevania, Ninja Gaidens, and Megaman series could make it by this game. Nice to see you making crybabies out of the younger gamers. Many of you just played for a few moments and just gave up. Well, you should try to finish it then you'll be real disappointed in your unopen book reviews that you've given.
I enjoy the game play. IT has challenge factor, makes you think for a moment and even the stage boss only takes a moment to figure it out. Nothing too difficult. You may want to amp down the first part of the this stage though. Wow...I was pulling my hair out until I got it memorized.
Nice job on this project so far. Keep the stages coming, keep them fun and be careful with that difficulty button. :)
Great game in concept
It's just that Flash isn't a very good platform for long games like this. That said I enjoy all the work put into it, the depth of the voice acting and the length. I don't know how long all the other stages will be but this game must be massive, not to mention all the different little mini-games. On par with old SNES platformers and brawlers, and that's what I think you were going for.
That said, fighting enemies was pretty frustrating, especially coming back to a screen to find everything respawned when I stepped out for just a moment. Because of that it's very unrewarding to fight enemies and I found myself just running past them. Other then that my only problem is the graphics.
I'm sure that it would be difficult to get high quality art for such a long and expansive game (from what I see each stage has new tiles, enemies, people etc.) but right now it's the only barrier keeping your game from connecting better with people IMO. Your sprites and backgrounds are very flat and dull, and I think it takes away from the experience. Riding through the tundra on snowmobile shooting at other bikers was awesome, but it would be even more awesome if the art was detailed and immersive, to an extent.
Not a bad game by any means it's just that improved graphics would add so much to it. Maybe start practicing for your next game, read an art book or something?
GRAPHICS: The Graphics were the best thing about it,not saying that they were good as they were very... blocky when looked at closer with somethings were also unrealistic anatomy wise. 3/10
SOUND:The music was a bunch of annoying trance music that looped the same few seconds OVER AND OVER AGAIN.The voice acting was generic and painful to listen to. 2/10
GAMEPLAY: The gameplay was extremely frustrating due to the clumsy controls and bad aiming. An improvement would be to have a gunstar heroes mechanic which let you aim without moving i.e: Press k to stand still to aim. 2/10
ORIGINALITY: This game: WAT R ORIGNALTY??? 1/10
I have to agree baout the controls they are very clumsy and it is obvious that they are not designed to fit the game there is no chance shootin while jumping and avoiding or if u wnat to target enemy u have to move in his direction thus positioning urself so bad that more likely u will be hit
graphics are not great ether
need a controls page in the game itself not just in descripiton
redesign controls and this would actually be playable
