The sequel Everstar has been released, play it here now! /portal/view/599005

Everspace is a completely open ended "sandbox" game, Although there are no objectives or concrete game play you can explore space with realistic gravity and orbits, all planets, moons and stars and nebula's are completely randomly generated and you will never find the completely same planet and it is completely infinite.

I had bigger plans for this game but i ran into many problems with the current engine and unfix-able glitches that were very discouraging. Thats why the "game" has really no goals and there are no objectives or really any "game play" but i really didn't want the engine to sit and waste on my HD so i decided to polish it up and release a game that at least some people could enjoy.

Art...or just a none-game?

Looks great!
Sounds great!
Fells awesome!
Physics are good!
No objective = not a game, maybe an interactive movie?
No story = hardly a movie.
So this must be best described with the A-word.
f**k that. I`m just trying to explain to myself why I like this.
I canĀ“t decide how to rate this, but since the music made my body levitate 2 inches over my chair while I wrote this, I give you Max points!

I completely fell in love with this game.

Graphics: Everything looked brilliant. I love the random clouds of whatever mysterious fumes that maybe; I assumed it was alien farts, but that's just me. The only thing I would change about the graphics would be on the planets. I wish the planets had more detail, I'm not say aliens or anything, but maybe some weird plants, or some water. I think it would add to the mystery of the game.

Function: Controlling the ship is very hard, which is my book is a good thing because you're in space, you're supposed to be floating around. The shift key to stop all motion is an amazing feature I think the game would have fell apart without it.

Sound: Icing on the cake. The music gives you the feel of desolation and isolation, that you're lost. Perfect. The only problem I had with it is that it got really loud at some parts and I had to turn down my speakers because it hurt my ears.

Overall: Fantastic game, I hope to see more from you. Message me if you have new releases.

unbelivable responds:

Thank you so much for this review, it really improves my day when people enjoy my creations. I was going to add more varied planets, as in spiky planets, mountainous planets, watery planets and such but i just ran out of time, maybe in the future.

Again, thank you for enjoying my game.

Never played a game quite like this before. The background is amazing, but the planets could use more detail. Either that or a wider angle so we can view the planets as a whole.
Also it would be cool if there were some interactive elements like comets or gravity wells
Anyway, really cool idea. I love it

Fuck me...

Fuck. If we could only travel so many light-years so quickly... ugh man...

Having said that, I'm Way to much of a space nerd to not give this perfect scores.
