Rocks&War is a 2D action game, where you are in command of human forces, in an unknown planet. Using simple commands, you can drag your units into the battlefield, also you can switch their states such as putting them in "Defense", "Attack" or "Normal" mode. As you go through the levels you get new units, but also you will face new enemies.

the game was really hard but gameplay was good but it seems all my troops keep dying no matter how much i put down and the endin decent and if anyone gets to the last stage good luck oh and spoiler! last stage put guys behind giant rock monsters.

Decent Game

Decent game, but as mentioned, repetitive. I do like the addition of immune enemies that require specific methods to kill though. The only two I've encountered (as of level 25, if anyone plays that far) are magma skull worms, and magma giant things (They're as tall as 2 lanes). I stopped playing (and unfortunately can no longer load since I played the tutorial to check for things I was missing), but I feel like you have to back attack the magma giants to kill them. However, I think being forced to back attack is kind of annoying because there's a high probability that the guy is going to die and you ALWAYS have to spawn someone to get a back attack. If you can move guys between lanes rather than just back and forth on one lane, that would be much better than forcing you to spawn a unit. That would also open up a lot of strategies. Stacking as many guys as possible no longer becomes the most effective method of dealing with enemies. Additionally, you should allow mass unit movement. It was very annoying trying to coordinate more than 1 person at a time.

Werephyr mentioned the landmines. I would contest that they were just plain useless. The only time I found a use for them was with rock worms. But that was mostly because I was trying to find a use for them. My machinegunners handled the rock worms just fine.

I think this game has potential, but it needs to be more fluid. It got kinda interesting towards the end but it took too long to get there and I don't feel like playing through the first 20 or so levels again. Because even though it got "kinda" interesting, it was mostly because I was trying to improve my defense by reorganizing it. Perhaps between rounds you can have an "organization phase" where you can move units around like chess pieces, and do upgrades and what not. The gameplay would revolve around your lanes helping each other out, as opposed to being isolated elements.

It was good.

Could of made the battlefield a little longer, also should be able to upgrade the generator, to give more points? perhaps a bit more soldiers types? Voice acting or voice sound effects, when they are deployed? IE: "Go, go, go" "Come get some!" or whatever like that. All and all, it was a good game, a bit repeative but still good.

on another note though, the Landmines became useless after like 3 levels of getting them, same with the "Fixed Machine Gun", perhaps the fixed machine gun should of did more damage as well, along with a bit further range.

Boring pacing

I just felt like I was throwing on more an more of the same basic infantry in one spot than anything else. Plus the story/upgrades don't seem to make themselves apparent at all until what seems like 4-5 long levels in. But no real strategy seems and to be used, unless you count retreating at the same time, 20 times. Decent graphics though.
