Doodle God's Bastard Cousin

I agree with a lot of the reviews that came before me: Alxemy is basically Doodle God with a different motif. Now, using the alchemy angle was a good idea, and if you remember how Doodle God went, you won't have too much trouble getting through the game, and if you do, the handbook for the game is available and containing all of the formulas. Alxemy does have a look all its own, and it also has a world perspective feature that allows you to see the results of your alchemy as you populate the world. But it doesn't change the fact that Alxemy is blatantly derivative and not quite as original as Doodle God. While the design is more elaborate, it lacks the simplicity of Doodle God, and some of the riddles don't quite make much sense (a chimp that can play a flute isn't so much a man, it's just a musical chimp). If you need to kill some time, you can give this game a play, but I would recommend, unfortunately, Doodle God or Doddle Devil instead.

its not like if it was a complete ripoff

but its quitte a bit :\
so as you made a game way to similar to another ,i'll compare the hell out of it
the recipes are less logical than in doddle god a few times
the art is pretty cool but it doesn't fit as doddle god did ,plus the design is way more generic, you even added an animeish girl :\
nice sound but could be better
kudos for the over world part
still you obviously got most of the ideas from doddle god ,and didn't even tried to come up with more awesome stuff, the overworld is cool but in the end i .didn't even cared for that ,and that was where the art was kinda bad

hyptod responds:

Both DG and Alxemy are descendants of old DOS game (see auth. comments). But DG released first and players don't know about the original one. So we're doomed to get reviews like yours. :D

I liked it, the look and gameplay are really smooth. I also liked it because it's similar to Doodle God. That's ok, but I was hoping for something new. The only big differences are the layout and that the creations being placed on a worldmap. Adding to that: I can't finish the game, because I have to visit other websites... If you want people to support you, create something new and different. If it's the same quality as this game, you'll get all the support you want. Other than that, nice game and good luck with the next one.

Pretty fun the first time, I found everything I could without having to advertise for the game makers.
