Beat increasingly harder bosses as they adapt, stage by stage, to your tactics and purposefully arm themselves with the weapons that have proven to annoy you the most! Can you prevail and defeat the dreaded Black Heart?

Includes multiple weapons and achievements to unlock and a great soundtrack by 8 Bit Weapon.

Originally created for the GameJolt indie demake contest (which it won), now available as an even better updated version for your pleasure. The game is a demake of "Warning Forever" by Hikoza Okhubo.

UPDATE: added information about the original game (the information was always in the 'Credits' page, but people complained anyway). I never intended to misrepresent anything - this game is a remake, and is very heavily inspired by the original.

I <3 danmaku~

I also love games that take one thing and do that one thing really, really well. And this does its evolution mechanic and the resulting bullet hell really, really well. The graphics also work pretty well too; it's like a battle for cyberspace or something... Anyway, pretty epic stuff, even if it is kind of a ripoff.

Love the AI

It's great how this game really adapts to your strategy (I didn't take that seriously at first after I read the game description). The game is fun to play, and because of the game's AI, it's never the same game twice. I'd love to see more of your work ;)

awesome game

A golden duck though? I busted my ass for a golden duck?

krajzega responds:

If you're good enough to get the duck, you don't need another upgrade ;).

Still, probably not something I'm going to repeat in my next game.

Awesome game

It must have took a ton of programming to make so much adaption possible!

Difficult but very, very fun!

This is a really excellent flash game, and I've been wasting more time on it than I really should be. Things to praise:

First of all, the controls, especially the manual, are way more intuitive than everyone has been giving them credit for. Just move away from the boss, line up your shot, and hold down fire to strafe. The Auto is a little clunkier, but after two games I was already getting to double digit stages again, so I'm not sure what the problem is. More than nine firing directions would be nice, but it's not really a necessity.

The graphics are fun in a retro-ish sort of way, and the music provides a nice ambiance, though I appreciate the option to turn it off.

The multiple "heart" types really up the "OH SHIT" factor after you get to them, and the free-form enemies are, of course excellent. One last piece of icing on the cake is that the achievements actually get you something instead of a shiny badge.

One thing I will agree with the majority of the commentators on is that this is a HARD GAME. I still haven't gotten past the thirteenth level. Nonetheless, for the more hardcore bullet-hell fan, this is definitely worth a look.

tl;dr: Overall fun and innovative game. Controls take a little while to learn, but make for a fun, if hard, shooter game.
