This game is called Shoot em Up and it is my first attempt at a viable Flash FPS, the whole game was done by me in Flash CS4 and Action Script 3, the art work in the interface was done by me as well. Check it out tell me what you think please, but keep in mind be professional in you comments and critiques I do realize that this game is very rough and could use a lot of work that is what i am in school for lol. Enjoy the game.

I like the name

Perhaps the points from each hit could vary based on where you shoot it. Little details like that add a bit of replay value to a game. The infinite ammo took out almost all of the challenge. The bonus items did add a bit of flare and all of the actions responded well. Although i noticed a glitch to where it you rapid fire just underneath the target where it pops out of the counter it will reset a few times allowing you to shoot the same target more than once. Maybe something to look into.
Score 1000 wooot!

Rayven2011 responds:

Thank you for the critique, I will most defiantly take the into mind. I do intend on making a "Shoot em UP 2" adding a set of maybe slower targets where the different rings are worth different point values, as well as ducks that will fly across the screen. The problem with the glitchy target is driving me nuts but I am still working on it.

The game would be more challenging if there was limited ammo, or limited clips or just a wait time between each shot. Also would be nice to be able to see your shots or gun or something, doesn't help for aiming or anything just would make the game look a lot nicer.

Rayven2011 responds:

That is a cool idea limited ammo, hmmm but i would have to make it so you can reload since it is a time based game and the targets / number of targets is totally random over the time allotted. Also I was thinking of a graphic of the front of a rifle and than the sight or something along those lines. Ty for you response:)

It's an okay start. First, the gunshot sound is WAY off. Second, for some reason, targets stopped appearing close to the end for a while, then another few popped up. Third, targets farther away should be worth more and hitting close to the center should be worth more. Lastly, I saw no "cherries"... Maybe I just got unlucky, but I think you should program it so that you always get the same number of cherries, but at random points during the game. The menu and the splash on the menu were kinda good though, so I'm not giving this a 1, but there are a lot of problems with this game, so I can't give it a good rating. If you improve ONE thing about this game, make it the gunshot sound, it really threw me off at first.

Rayven2011 responds:

Yes I am aware of the sound and trying to fix it, I am going to have to edit the sound in Sound booth a lil bit there is a dead spot i do bealive in the audio clip I used right b4 the actual gun shot audio. Agreed on the point values, The cherries are totally random. Thank you for the rating and I will fix the sound.

This is my review...

This is my review. Starts with a 10

No Music -2
Sounds +1
No Glitches 1+

That was my review. You got a 10. 5/5

Rayven2011 responds:

Thank you for your response, I honestly didnt even think about a looping background music but I guess that would make sense. I am gonna see if I can maybe find a clip of ole time carnival music to loop in the back round. Thank you for the input as well as a good idea.

Not great

This game isn't terrible, but it isn't great either.

The graphics looked fine. I would make an animation though, when you shoot the targets.

Your sound effect sounds fine too, but it has to be on time. Now the sound plays about one second later, which isn't good.

Also the ending screen isn't good. You could at least put Game over on a single line.

Rayven2011 responds:

The idea for a animation when you shoot the targets is a good idea I will work on that. I am aware that the sound is off and plan on fixing that soon but cant at the moment as I have big projects going in school and work. And unless the game is glitching the end screen does say Game Over than under that a clickable button play again! Thank you very much for you response.
