"Yes, that is supposed to happen."

This was done for the Newgrounds Game Jam #2. We had 72 hours to make a game.
Taking the path less traveled (like really less traveled) our programmer, HiddenSpartan, did some funky stuff and that explains the game. This technically is a massive feat of programming because to create what we had here, HiddenSpartan created a level editor, a character editor and the whole engine from scratch to get us to what we have now. He added "quantum boxes" last minute for a little added fun.

We'll eventually use this a jumping point to create a far more complex RPG game. Hopefully you enjoy.

Yeah, I was worried the maze as too hard due to it's size, so the fact that a lot of people are completing it is a good sign.

Rushed and very poor.

I'm sorry if this is rude but there is no sugar coating this.

I know this is for a competition but in comparison to games like bearbound this is pathetic. You clearly stated how much effort was put in yet I see almost no results. Aside from the music and the ufo thing you control everything else received no love. there was little challenge to the maze, and not even a gimmick to show you even had a good idea. the only thing that kept this from receiving no stars was the music and the average programing. if it wasn't for those two things the game might not have even made it past judgment. My only advice is to simply learn from your mistakes. take your time and do it right next time or you will have created another pile of rubbish just like this one.

Fully understood. I mean as the "artist" I'm taking a lot of crap from a lot of people. Put simply though, I was just taking orders. I see what you mean, I'm not proud of this game, and I still think 2 is too high of score. Next game will be better. Haha, thanks for the review :D

It may be a massive feat and all..

But it's never about *how* you make it, it's all about the end result. The same exact game could be replicated in a few minutes with some simple movement and collision code. I don't see why you went ahead and made any complex engine if you didn't actually use it fully.

And I read your newspost, and I still don't see the point in having "geometrical figures" for graphics. Art could have still been made, and it would have at least looked better.

I fully understand. I'm not the programmer, I just followed what was asked of me. And it wasn't done in AS2 or AS3 if you want the full details ask him yourself. The geometrical figures was because (to my knowledge) is that the engine could only process those lines of code and not the art itself.

I can't even play the game.

The screen is cut off and doesn't fully appear. I dunno what's wrong, but I give it a 1 because other people said they can play it. I refreshed several times, shut my computer off, nothing works.

Woah... Our game isn't that good. You should stop trying, and that 1 you gave us is too generous.
Anyways, I'm not quite sure what you mean by the screen is cut off, but before you can move, you need to click the screen maybe once or twice to get the game to work. Other than that, sorry that you couldn't play our mediocrity.
