I built this flash game for the first FlashPunk games competition, you were allowed 72 hours to make a game from scratch, and the theme was FlashPunk, which is basically pink and cogs and stuff. Anyway the aim of the game is to use your little dude with the black and pink tophat to stop the little pink bad guys from getting to the center to blow up the Punktron. you can collect coins dropped by the baddies and save up to upgrade the Punktron. Upgrading it gives it the ability to help you fight back among other things. Not an easy game, 4 different types of bad guys, (some you have to jump to shoot) who all appear by level 6.
Fun fact about the competition: we were only allowed to use 96 by 96 pixels (but we could scale up). So what you see is 96 by 96 scaled up huge.
Hope you guys like it, I did what I could in the time given.
(P.S. I did all the art code and music for the game from scratch, not a musician as you all can probably tell :P)
Controls
Left/Right - Move
Up - Jump
Space - Shoot
P - Pause
M - Mute
Mouse - to navigate around the menus.
Neat but needs work
The start is slow (the first level seems to never end) but it picks off after level 2, I honestly almost quit before then. Mashing spacebar is annoying; it would be nice if you could hold to attack even if it attacked slower than mashing. Graphics look pretty neat for what they are (never heard of flash punk.) The music...I'm glad there was a mute button, no offense. It's cute at first and then ears start to bleed after 2-3 levels.

Haha, yeah, I know I'm not great with composing, not been doing it for long :P
Hence why I made extra sure I got a mute button in :). I do need to do a bit of balancing on the gameplay, I will see if I can get it to get going a bit faster and not get as difficult as suddenly.

Haha I got the highest score of all time! Anyway, was a cool game up until level 7, it was freakin impossible
