Well...
When I read the title I knew this had to be one of two things. I was kind of hoping for the other, but this isn't too bad. About as good as sticks fighting floating balls can get. Well done.
This is possible my finest work (says the animator). Looking back at it, I'm supirsed how the random ball throwing thing had worked so well. I put all the limbs on seperat layers so I could shape tween them to get that smooth move to them, without any extra lines appearing. It also makes it a whole lot faster than frame-by-frame animating it.
This was a lot of fun to make, and equllaly fun to watch the end result. I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm have been making it.
This is much better than YouTube. One day, and 10 reviews, thank you, I have added a background, and even "streamed" the music, so it's all syched, so you don't have to open in a pop-up window. I have also changed the title. Not much you can say, guy gets attacked by balls, how are you meant to title that? I was able to get round that, but had o make up a few things on-the-spot.
Xein is pronounced "Zen" and is a force that is sort of like being Neo from Matrix. Along with that, your world is your oyster to paint, so to speak. You can make one thing from another providing that it is made from the same materials. Now that's covered, enjoy the animation.
Well...

Thanks.
WOW....
Man, a couple of things...
Ok. You TWEENED EVERYTHING. Not a good idea. PLEASE, FBF is so much better. Not compulsory(I think thats the right spelling), but it looks so off. People dont jump that slow and neither do balls bounce that slow. 2nd, Dont call it 'Guy fights Balls.' You can guess the first picture that comes to mind, and that doesn't sound pretty.
The idea, good, but the tweening didn't make it that good. Really, FBF will help.
And you NAILED the slow-mo. I've been trying to do that for years.
Thanks for he advice. This place is sooo much better than youtube. I konw know what people think of it! For the title, I really couldn't think of a better one, but I'll try. And I'll try and tween less often, I have learnt from anime that FBF (as you would call it) can help at times. I'll work on it.
Amazing
this is better than my bored animations...
._.
Good!
Is this a first attempt? If not, its still pretty darn good, and if so, then even more so.
A few protips: FBF (frame-by-frame) animation, while a bit more time consuming, is actually much more pro and looks much better than tweening. Sure, tweening gives smoothness but smoothness is not always what you want. Tweening should be used sparingly, not for every movement.
All that aside, its a good film. Keep it up! Hope to see some more stuff from you in the future!
Thank you for the advice. This is my second animation. I really thought that smoothness was everything, but maybe I was thinking differently...
I'll work on it, be sure on that.
Pretty decent
The general idea was alright, more original than having him fight some other faceless stick man like many others do. I liked how the weapons were formed and that jump-smash with the pole was pretty great.
There are three main things I feel could be improved.
1. The speed... A lot of it was too slow to feel the intensity of the attacks.
2. The character had noodle arms that would simply curve around... While it's possible for you to develop that into a recognizable style of your own, I felt it took away from the intensity. Having a sharp angle at the elbow when preparing a punch would look a lot more fierce than simply curving your arm to hit the thing in front of you.
3. The lack of background was kinda bland. You could let the character interact with the background (like picking objects up) or smash through one background into another, etc. Having a plain white background is just kinda boring. Even a simple black background with small white dots ("stars") or a typical black background with green grid would be more appealing.
Sound can be synced in flash by going to the properties panel, clicking the frame the song starts on, and selecting "Stream" as the sync option (it's usually on "Event" by default). This will make the music pause when the movie pauses and stuff.
Thanks in general.
1. Really? I thouhg it was just right. I'll see next time I'll experiment with speed and stuff.
2. That was thanks to shape tween, maybe this is by FBF can benifit over weening. I'll work on it.
3. I was hoping no-one would notice. a) I didn't think of one, and b) I thouhgt you wouldn't be able to see the stickmen properly. I'll work on that aswell.
4. Didn';t know about syching, I'll edit that stight away. Thanks a lot :)
