Adrellia Village: Season 1, Episode 34:
You Forgot Something...

12/5/10 - You Forgot Something...

Runtime: 2:14

You MUST watch the previous episodes before watching this.

In this installment of, "Adrellia Village," Drake and Rachel show Brutus what they're made of! Episode 34 is finally done and all of you have been requesting that we have voice acting again. The original voice actors from episodes 1 to 24 of, "Adrellia Village" are back in this exciting new episode.

Although it says, "The End" and not "To Be Continued," please note that there will be episodes in the future and they will begin the events of the second manuscript.

Those episodes will be high quality, improved lip-sync, limb movement, plotline, etc.

I edited this episode using Sony Vegas a lot so I just imported the video into Flash. But unlike most "flashes" with videos imported into them, this is in good quality.

For music used and all the other stuff, refer to the credits.

Much better

I have to say this was much better than most others in the set as it had more effort in it and the graphics were much better too. The tone of this felt fast paced and you kept wanting to see more to know what would happen.

The graphics were excellent although the transition near the start seemed to be a bit off on timing it seems. Then the rest of the way was great and the thought bubbles were great since they mocked the mastermind the whole time before throwing the necklace at him.

The audio was alright. I recognized the songs partly and then the summoning sound sounds like it either came from Kingdom Hearts or a Final Fantasy game. The voices seemed to be a bit bad though since it felt rushed.

Overall, really nice work there.

MistyE responds:

Thank you! A fast-paced tone was my aim here. Mocking the mastermind was an idea I had since listening to his long speech would be rather boring. And yes, the summoning sound is from Kingdom Hearts.

Appreciate your review! Can you do episode 38?

Audio let it down

I like this piece and the plot being exposed quickly, with little fuss, though the audio was one big carbuncle, which sapped the enjoyment from me, during this piece.

For the audio quality, I'd suggest that you start by either getting better recording equipment (I'm not sure this is an issue), or recording a little further from the microphone and spending some time equalising it, to get the most from it.

I think that the plot is good, as are some of the jokes. I would have preferred the guys to walk in the opposite direction of the arrow and then come back past it, heading where the arrow points, with the wizard saying "What do you know, he must be smarter than he looks."

There is a good chance to take this further and I'd like to see that done, but I'll reserve judgement, until I've seen a little more of the series itself, as I'm still relatively new to this.

MistyE responds:

Thank you! The "he's smarter than he looks" suggestion will work great actually. I appreciate your review, and to grasp the entire plotline, watching the previous episodes is important. From episodes 1-12 I recapped all of the important parts but then I trashed that idea for some reason.

Great

I haven't seen all of the episodes, but from what I've seen is that the animation has really improved.
Although the video quality is worse than in some other episodes the characters and backgrounds are actually moving, and there are not many loops for the animation. The main character actually moves through the different backgrounds, what you didn't have in many other episodes.

The things that were good in the previous episodes apply here too. The nice voice acting and good atmosphere are here too.
The story progressed quickly too, which is always a plus

Altogether this is IMO one of your best episodes yet.

MistyE responds:

Thanks. Importing a video into Flash gave this a fuzzy quality. I appreciate your review!

Hmm

There was a huge problem with the voices here. All of them had static noises, as if they where recorded too loud. This really hurts this flash movie, which was funny otherwise.

I liked the thought bubbles of Drake, Rachel and Sebastian during Brutus' speech, they added a lot of comedy value.

Also I think it's a bit lame to have Drake (and maybe the other characters as well?) mirrored when they look to the right side. It's clearly visible that Drake is mirrored, because the writing on his shit is mirrored as well.

MistyE responds:

Thanks. The idea of making Adrellia Village comedic and satirical rather than serious and suspenseful occured to me when this was made, and Brutus' tiresome speech was something I felt had to be funnier.

Drake mirrored here was truly a sign of laziness on my part, the other episodes don't have mirrored text.
