Endeavor is a game about a dwarf trying to uncover an ancient secret. Or maybe it's about exploring, climbing, and swimming. Or perhaps it's about collecting powerups and treasure. Or possibly it's just about killing things.

With multiple endings, quests, interactive npcs and ambient critters, it's my most involving game yet! It features many original musical tracks, several upgrades, and an engaging climbing and endurance scheme.

Left/Right arrows to move
X to jump
Up/Down arrows to climb
P to pause and display collections
C to advance text
Q to return to the title screen (Use this if the game gets stuck for some reason!)

Volume controls:
-/+ to adjust volume
0 to mute

This game was made in one month for the Ludum Dare October challenge, though it took another month for release!

You can find a full map of the game at

Note: Once you've reached an ending, you won't be able to get a different ending without restarting the game. Don't worry, getting the other endings is much faster when you know where everything is!

Update: Some people are getting lag whenever they touch a flower- this is due to an auto-save feature that I've decided to remove (note that the game still autosaves whenever you collect a powerup or switch screens, just not on touching flowers anymore). I've submitted the latest version which should get approved soon, so bear with me! Thanks for playing!

Update 12/2: There seems to be a bug with running out of endurance underwater and getting trapped in air bubbles. I'm working on fixing it! If this happens, press Q to return to the main menu, and then reload your save file.

Update 12/3: Patched to fix the underwater bug, pressing escape now pauses AND unpauses. Added tip menu screen to press p to see collections. Also added an additional creature on the island above the light beam. Hopefully the update goes live soon!

Update 12/11: Added a link to a full map of the game, see above!

secret medals

for the secret medals you need all 3 endings:
medal 1: beat the game without colleting all gems and killing less than 10 creatures!
medal 2:beat the game while colleting at least 10 gems!
medal 3: beat the game while killing 10 or more creatures!
medal 4: get all endings!

This game was amazing

I can't believe I have just played it 3 times to get the 3 endings. It's worth 10/10

Reminiscent yet Unique

This game was quite masterful in plot.
The only thing I must point out is how the plot was started. There doesn't seem to be fateful event from which comes the dwarf's tragic fall. I must emphasize fateful. I guess it would be quite cliche for a story to develop due to fate, but wherein does the reason for him jumping off the cliff lie? Is is simply due to exploring and he was not strong enough?

*SPOILER WARNING, mates (sorry)*
I must again applaud you for the plot. Choice (or shall I say Freedom?). That's the simple entirety of the game. Most gamers, as I was, are probably not aware that they have choices in how to get back up when in fact there are.
The choice of trusting that voice and the quest given by it is the plot that is quite reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus. The story, however, of it is the only thing I am allowed to compare your game to that of SotC. It would be foolish of me to do otherwise...

The thing of beauty in your game, if not the environment, music, and atmosphere, is the realization gamers must face in aftermath of the their first play-through and its tragic plot twist. It is the realization of guilt for trusting that voice. It is also the realization that you have the freedom of choice in this game.

I would give you a 9/10 for how you initially deliver plot, but the entirety of the game makes up for it. This is the only game that made me both consider and actually create an account for the sole purpose of writing a review.

Excellent Job, I hope to see more of your work.

YEah good either

was awesome. my only complaint is that there seems to be no way to get the other ending once you have collected all the gems without starting a new game. I would like to at least see the other ending, but I don't really want to spend the time to collect all the items a second time.
still, really cool game
