srsly, I don't know what to do.
Hi I'm Todd. I'm 14 and this is a demo for this game that I'm making, Rolo and the Fez of Fate
enjoy
P.S. dont send angry mail cos its crap, trust me, I know
srsly, I don't know what to do.
Well
It Isn't super, but it also isn't crap. I was kind of disappointed that the game ended without really getting to do anything. I hope you finish it. Some things you probably will want to do in the finished version:
1. Add sound, a thwack for the hammer hitting hard objects, and s smush or other noise for soft objects. bubbles while under water. A pain noise. Some music would be nice too. Either way sound or music, you will want to add mute buttons for them, just in case others aren't as keen on them as you.
2. Instructions at the start. We should probably know that you need to hold down spacebar to finish the swing and that partial swings don't count.
Other than that I can't comment much. I liked the TV coming to life and attacking you. Perhaps you could build a story off of that. Like say the battle with the TV is one you can't win, and it eats you and puts you into the show that you just started watching. It is a thought. It could be fun.
Anyhow keep up the good work and keep trying. I am going to give this a passing score of 3/5 5/10. Because I feel encouraging today.
Problems. Major ones.
I would love to give this game a better rating, because it could be a fun little timewaster even in demo form, but for a few problems:
1-No respawning. It has about five seconds playtime.
2-No instructions. How on earth are you supposed to figure out the commands without instructions? Straightforward as they may be, you still need to have a way for people to find them out, because it took me a while to figure out that you only programmed WASD controls.
3-The attacking system. Attacks should automatically complete once you press the space bar, rather than you having to hold the spacebar down until the sledgehammer hits the ground for the attack to complete.
