Another year, a totally new line-up of art. NDC (Notepad Drawing Collab) is a showcase of art throughout a various amount of artists. This was hosted on the 2/6/10 11:47 PM and ran up until the 10/10/10 (didn't realize that date until just now). The collab held a main focus on "notepad drawings". Artists are given a choice of 3 different pieces of notepad paper (normal, stained and old) in which is then drawn onto and sent back. This is the 3rd year running and is reaching new heights every year... I hope you enjoy ~JKA

Navigation is a-side each art piece. The button will show arrows going back and fourth once you place your mouse over it (that is the navigation button to go forward or back).

I realized last years medals put in the collab were a little too easy to find, so, I've decided to make it a little more difficult. There may be some issues regarding medals so if you can, let me know if you are finding any troubles and I will fix it asap.

I don't get why you care, but, to all those complaining and arguing that this is a game, let me clear this out: This is a game for the simple fact that it is NOT a movie. When submitted to the portal, there are two options being, a Movie and a Game/Interactive, which would make more logical sense? choose it being a movie, having no relevant way of it being an actual movie at all or choosing Game/Interactive where you are using your mouse to search and "interactively" move around and about the screen. Which one would you honestly choose..?

And if I do end up changing it (which I am not) to a movie, I know for a fact everyone will start complaining about it being not a movie even though rated under that.

Thanks for viewing the collab and to everyone who participated ~ JKA

ok I guess

Honestly I have seen better art in my students work they do in their sketches for art class at the end of each Friday. most of these are nice but few follow anything close to traditional figure drawing...yes even he heroes..those use heroic proportions, not realistic ones.

Aside from that critical thing. These are best suited for what they are for anyway, video games and comics and the like. So no major motion films for them. But I guess as a teacher, I kind of get tired of seeing stuff like this . The novelty wears off after a couple years of it.

I'm not understanding the need for such background fake papers. They were all done in flash or whatever program each prefers with those paper backgrounds right. So I don't see a point. I'd say its a little more impressive if entirely done on those papers freehand, then scanned over. Since paper drawing is a much different experience and skill-set than tablet or mouse drawing.

So overall I would guess some points for the efforts done to get tis ready, but this is roughly same or less than the quality my students put out in a 2 hour session every Friday afternoon for sketching time.

So grading as I do for my class, 10 being A and 1 being fail-redo, I give a 4/10
and over all flash a 2/5
Im sure you'll do better next friday :)

JKAmovies responds:

Not to sound like a douche, but I don't really believe you being a teacher (what kind of teacher goes on NG?). Sorry if I am wrong though.

As for the criticism, I'd like to see those 'students' of yours, because they must have some pretty good art abilities if that is true. Seriously though, the point of this is sketch drawings, and doing this on paper (even though being a very good idea) it would be a great distrait on many artists and doing that is a struggle for those who don't have such facility's to do so. This is a media based collab anyway, and trust me... Drawing media-based is just as hard (or even harder) as doing on paper. it involves knowing the program and utilize what it offers.

I guess this is solely for artists. This is something that artists would understand more than others.

Thanks for the criticism none the less, it is a help, though most of what you pointed out I do not agree with (I'm taking a guess that you're an English teacher if any). thanks ~JKA ;3
