Steeplechase Redux

Steeplechase Redux is kindof a joke game I made one night. It only took like 1 hour to make it and I recorded it all to put on youtube. I got the inspiration after seeing a Steeplechase for Atari 2600 review on Youtube. I was bored so I made this xD.

The way it works is that you must adjust your jump height to get speed bonus when you jump over the blocks. If its a high box, jump high. If its a low box, jump low. Just as close to the box without hitting it to get awesome speed bonuses!

I <3 this game cuz it's fun.

Good job! ;)

This is a decent game

I was not able to understand it that way, but this was a fairly fun game to play. The reason it works for me is because it is pretty simple with absolutely everything it does. I was still a bit confused as to how I seemed to die after doing nothing, but nice. There could have been some more detail put into this, with the horse and man. Of course, that might defeat its purpose of being a simple game which it certainly is. It was even a little surreal, as I could in no way tell where I was going or why.

TheSolgryn responds:

Thx, but it's supposed to look that way since it's a super retro game (atari-like). xD

It doesn't look good and doesn't work

Ok you only put an hour work into it so I don't think you really care but ...

After a few seconds ingame i just explode ...
And it looks horrible :p

TheSolgryn responds:

Did you try JUMPING? Lol ...

Needs some tweaking

I successfully jumped over the block but at the second i touch the ground I kept getting explode. Something seems broken.

TheSolgryn responds:

You must get as close to the block when you jump to not get sent back... The higher you are in comparison to the block, the farther you get sent back.. so if you jump way above a small block you get sent back into the spikes..
