UPDATE: Thanks Tom & company for the front page. My servers crashed twice as my host scrambled to meet the needs of this application. But, that is hopefully resolved.

UPDATE: WooOo Trophy! :D Thanks for the votes!

UPDATE: There are two music load bars near the bottom of the application. The one on the left is the current song, the one on the right is the next song up. This isn't indicated anywhere in the application, but now you know & knowing is half the battle.

First, thanks to Newgrounds & the audio portal composers for being such awesome guys. I like the cut of your jibs.

This is phase 2 of the Audio Bridge Project. Phase 1 was ugly and never saw the light of day. Phase 2 is minimalistic and mostly not ugly. But, the sound is the point.

This is a radio which updates its library to contain songs, currently, just from the Newgrounds audio portal. The database is not strictly up to date at every given moment, but it is updated regularly. So, if you vote on songs, those scores will eventually be stored in my database.

You can filter music by score, genre, & date submitted.

What you can't do, yet, is favorite music, go back and listen to a track you already listened to, or create playlists. I only mention that because plans for phase 3 include those mentioned features. Fret not, your ear drumbs shall be caressed by the most caring of musical fingers, in the future!

If you're into code and stuff like that, you'd be interested to know the entire project was created using FlashDevelop and the Flex SDK. Nothing here was actually made in Flash unless it was a Newgrounds resource.

You put in too much effort here not to include repeat functions or even a back button.

Not original!

Hey GumOnShoe, your submission still was good but it had nothing new. I did NG Portal Radio v2 01 and released wednesday and I can see you took some things I did as the user identifyer algorithim, volume scrollers, the play buttons, some kind of the descriptions and also you can find the spectrum visualizers at the Newgrounds Radio by Archawn and you can filter music on Newgrounds Radio Desktop, your didn't had many functions and uses, you can't fav or put the songs loaded to a history list and is just you listen to music for a few minutes.

Try to improve more on the things and have creativity.

gumOnShoe responds:

It is the first stage... sheesh. But yeah, my plan is to entirely blow anything you or anyone else has done out of the water, and make it not look ugly. :D

But you know, whatever. If you don't like phase 1, then you can't tell an extensible project when you see one.

I assure you that playing songs in a random order is not stealing ideas from you. And the month that I put into putting this together, hand crafting object oriented classes to make this portable, and detailing the GUI in a photo editing program ultimately took a lot more time and love than yours did.

Also, try reading the comments above. Your review wasn't very original. ;)

Final note: I made the visualizer myself. I don't believe in using others' programming work in a situation like this. The point was to make my own.

I dont understand

Its a music player, with a visualizer, and thats it.
It plays only music from NG, and most of the songs are trash. I found few that I actually liked.

GOod try, but this isnt good at all.

gumOnShoe responds:

There's a filter there... but you never do get it anyway. :/

Cool program, too bad most NG "musicians" suck

Newgrounds doesn't have any talented musicians so this whole program seems pointless. It's all just derivative techno and Frooty Loops garbage.

Also, there are already a bunch of flash almost exactly like this. This is not a new idea, and it wasn't really a good idea back then either.

gumOnShoe responds:

Just wondering if you saw that "Filter Music" button that allows you to get rid of what you don't want?
