Hello Newgrounds! This is my first submission and also the first game I've programmed since the Apple IIgs!
I worked on it solid with little sleep for two weeks until I ran out of food :).
There are currently three upgrades to the machine guns you can build. I'd like to make it much more but it is still a fully playable game that I've had a lot of fun with.
The idea is that you type in a keyword to search against twitter and it creates the enemies by grabbing real time results from your search. So for more of a challenge, choose a hot topic!
I finally got a chance to play this with a friend recently and it was fun to come up with a challenge word and see who could hit the highest level.

detweet -- that's all one line. Newgrounds is putting a space after the # for some reason...
I made a smaller version to fit in newgrounds so you will be able to see the tweets when they exit the screen there.

Interesting
So at first I just popped in a random word and thought the game was a little boring... Then I looked up the most popular Twitter account and typed that in. I'm at Level 7 and it sounds like all hell has broken loose.
I dig the game and concept but, the buildings should build a bit faster and like masterb said a variety of weapons to add. Keep it up.

it was a good game and interesting concept,but there was a few problems with it such as...
-turrets should have built a faster
-upgrading turrets should happen automatically instead of having it like rebuild itself
-more types of weapons added
-more variation in enemies

Nice idea, of uniting twitter content and a game. I loved it!
But the game ends kinda there... Not much else to do.
If there were more weapon options i think it would be nicer. And I still think it takes too much time to make some progress in the game.
Keep up; try to evolve it!
