Cavern Hunters is a game which I originally intended to be for the power the power of 3 contest here on Newgrounds. The problem is we never really entered the contest by a mix of fear and lazyness. Thus it could not be for the PO3, but I continued it anyway because I felt I should at least submit one good game on the portal and this is, I believe, the first of many.

MENU CONTROLS : Arrows - Select ; Space - Choose ; Esc - Back

IN-GAME CONTROLS : Arrows - move ; Space - Jump ; Esc - Pause menu ; A Key - Control all 3 monsters ; S Key - Use special (must be unlocked first) ; D Key - Change the controled monster ; M Key - Change music

The basic plot of the game is that you (3 cave monsters) have to retrieve every diamonds in the cavern. There is a total of 60 levels in the game with 10 unlockable extras. An intelligent password system is implemented to the game to keep track of your progress so you don't have to go through the 60 levels every time you feel like playing this puzzle-platforming game.

I had basically finished the early stage platforming engine a few days before I even knew the PO3 existed when a newgrounds friend (Edalas) told me about it. Then, I kind of left it down to try stuff for the contest. It's only about three days later I understood this was it, I only had to add two more players and find a good gameplay style with it. Then, for more than five months, I worked on it building the three-simultaneous-charac ters engine and designing alone and with friends the 60 levels. Just before I was done with the whole project (I had only 2 levels left to create, lvl 59 and lvl 60, and 2 extras left to think of, xtra 5 and xtra 6), I gave up on it. Now, seven months after I've let down this project and overall flash, after being harassed by my friends to finally end it and submit it, I've made the last efforts and, in one day, it was done, at last. And so, after more than a year in the making, I present to you my first real submission to newgrounds.com, Cavern Hunters. It may not show the best I can do, but it sure is a whole lot better than what I have submitted in the past.

Have fun :P
