Author Comments

I would like to point out something in case it wasn't obvious to some. These are not stand alone episodes, they are part of a full 20 minute episode. I understand that some by themselves are somewhat boring, but remember these are connected to others. I normally would post them all up at the same time. But since this episode has hit snags and has taken longer than I year, I've just been posting scenes as they've been completed.

Reviews: I appreciate them, and have no problem with tips and/or advice. But immature comments, anything of the like of "this sux" "crap" "garbage" will not be read or even looked at seriously. Don't waste your time and my own. I'm not saying or expecting everyone to like what I do in my free time, but at least be some what mature is all I ask.

Synopsis of scene:
With the attacks fading, Gail goes over the current events with the newly established Angels Special Forces.

"Fading Light"
Things are intensifying as the conflict is getting hotter. Demetrius Libertas, an ex representative for the EAP has shown his face once again. His intentions are unknown at the moment. Battles are still waging amongst the various Angel training facilities but all eyes are on New York as Adam Novus tries to fend off the mysterious frames that have advanced.

Not bad...still

This is the first time I've noticed your work and it's rather impressive. But...
Despite your well plotted story-line, I still think your animation needs alot of work, and your voice acting also needs some adjustments, it sounded too choppy for my liking. Also I didn't like how the entire thing looped over and over again, I might be picky, but I've always liked pressing play and replay buttons =P
That's technicalities out of the way, the next thing is your story-line. Even though I said it was well plotted and there was alot of substance, it still felt a bit dry. This is where I think you need to improve your voice acting in order to make the story-line more gripping and exciting - all the people sounded in the same tone, I think that's why it sounded dry.
Apart from that, I can tell that a lot of effort went into this flash =) and there's always room for improvement. Keep up the good work, I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your next episode.

Thanks, I appreciate the review. I will be adding the pause and play along with a streaming feature in the 4th episode. I just never did them in the individual scenes since they were always meant to be put together to make the complete episode. Since all the scenes posted on NG are just parts of the full episode. But yeah, definitely will be adding the playback options. I may just do them and reupload all the scenes.

The voice acting in the earlier episodes comes from my lack of directing to be honest. The voice cast is incredibly talented, I just never put actual directions and figured they'd figure it out on their own. But I adjusted that in the later scripts 5 and on. My fault since script writing was weird to me as I'm a prose writer.

The animation is improving with each episode, with the 4th one I'm already improving it when it comes to the dialogue scenes and etc. Then again this scene was also rather dry in substance haha.

Again, I appreciate thought out responses as they are so far and few between.

Flash and animation is not my strong suit, writing is. This is just a side hobby to expand my novel series and get it out to a broader audience as I prepare to start selling the individual novels.

This is fantastic!

Why is the raiting so low and barely any reviews? Thats ridiculous! Its sad when good quality work like this is ignored :(

This is really great. Ive just seen this one and I'm not 100% sure whats going on but I'm still interested and I'm gonna see more of them. Really great voice acting and the animations and drawings are pretty good as well but I think I need to see more to really grasp that. But really good hard work well paid off throughout this entire animation and I bet through the entire series you have goin

You've got talent. I'm not really following this as this is the first thing I see of this (therefor its kinda boring for me). Pull everything together and release it as a full lenght feature or something. That would

One tip: There are unnatural pauzes between dialogs. A way to fix this is to record everything in a DAW (Adobe Audition, audacity, take your pick) and export a scene into one mp3.
Not only does this take care of those weird pauzes, audio-events clitching up the place, etc, it will also severly reduce the file-size. Instead of having 60 0.3 mb mp3s you have 1 2 mb track.

nikedrummer33 responds:

All the current episodes are released in full length. des.html

And for the 3rd one since the link on that page didn't update yet is

All the episodes and content are updated far more often on my website than on NG.

I use Audition and Soundbooth. It's more of a putting them closer together honestly. Exporting as a single mp3 won't work since there would be different actions going on and it would require me to do all the FBF in the main scene which usually results in lag. I learned this during the first episode, this is why each line and character has their own movie clip, it prevents any major lag time. So for what I need it to do, I can't put all the lines together.

sweet shite

Very good, its obvious allot of time and effort went into your animation. Only recommendations I have (why I didn't rate 10/10) are 1) a play button would be nice, and 2) the voice acting and background animation are both totally rad, but it seems like the facial animation was lacking. Don't get me wrong, I know how effing annoying animating dialog is, it just looks like most of your energy went into background animation and what not.

Good Job.

nikedrummer33 responds:

Thanks. Yeah, I need to work more on facial animations. Still learning. Aiming to improve on that in the next full episode. There's a lot of work that needs to be done, but for the most part I just enjoy doing them.
