"Justifications -
President Truman steadfastly defended his use of the atomic bomb: "The world will note that the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, a military base. That was because we wished in this first attack to avoid, insofar as possible, the killing of civilians."

This was a preposterous statement. In fact, almost all of the victims were civilians, and the United States Strategic Bombing Survey (issued in 1946) stated in its official report: "Hiroshima and Nagasaki were chosen as targets because of their concentration of activities and population."

Hello Newgrounds! It's 9.15 local time and my first flash is out.

Notice: I had problem with sound when I was expanding the movie on my home computer. If the sounds aren't working properly when expanded, plz close and watch the movie from the start. Expanding may also show beyond what should be seen.

Edit3: Ah, 2.93? I'm disappointed :D Anyways, yeah, there is a problem with the sound. If you scroll down or up in the windows screen, the video freezes, but the music keeps on playing. Dunno how to fix that, but I'll figure something out.

This flash is about fictional city named Hiroshima (named after Japanese city of Hiroshima). Hiroshima Chronicles tells a story of people who lives in that town, 'till the city gets wiped out in a nuclear strike. This flash is just a prelude to the series. All it's character and story is fictional, even though it has contexts to the event happened exactly 65 years ago at 06.08.1945 in Hiroshima. This is a modern version of Hiroshima event.
This flashes purpose is not offend any people, and I'm deeply sorry for all who thinks this that way.

Whuush, finally it's finished. Well it did took me 8months with this project. Since it's my first flash ever, you can see the small roughness in it. It goes better towards ending when my skills has improved.

Hiroshima Chronicles is open project for any flash artist. Hopefully it could make someday own collection. Read from it more HERE

You want to read more about Hiroshima bombings? Read from it more from my NG newsfeed in HERE http://thekekemaster.newg 80

Other than that, hope you enjoy this flash movie. Reviews are most welcome :) Just remember to be nice and honest

There's Potential

I like the premise of the flash, but it needs a lot of work. The animation was very crude and blocky, but that could be simply that it's your first submission. Your voicing was lacking in clarity, but again something that can be worked out in later submissions. The inaccuracy of a European (as evidenced by the white skin and blond hair) in Hiroshima in 1945 took away from the flash for me, as did him being able to live without houses around his, living in a major city, and also though Nokia is a Japanese company, there were no cell phones and no texting in 1945. Maybe after you become more experienced with Flash animations, you can remake this and make it all that it can be.

TheKekeMaster responds:

Nokia is a Finnish company :D But thanks for your review.

On the sixth of August, 1945, a nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, killing 90.000 people instantly.
Among them was, for some reason, a badly-drawn blond japanese school- fuck up, who miraculously owned a nokia- cell phone. He never got to fuck.
I am deeply touched.

(Don't take this too hard XD I just recently read an article about the topic and this is just... well... er... a comedy.)

TheKekeMaster responds:

Yeah.. well.. the story continues, it doesn't end just like that :)
About Nokia, this is a modern version of Hiroshima

good quality but dislike the story

the animation wasn't bad i can tell you put a lot of effort into this submission but...

people doing story's about the US dropping the A-bomb on those two city's drives me crazy for some reason. cant stand the topic anywhere other than a history or science book.

yes hundreds of thousands of people died but i think they had to be hit for the good of society as a whole. showing us how devastating such weapons are and that their use in the future should NEVER be taken lightly or used as a first choice weapon.

sorry but like i said story's related to this topic drive me crazy

back to the animation itself
Very good for a first time animation, most first time stuff here if cr@p or worse... like the texting, the sounds were a bit quiet at first and hard to understand but were fine by the end of the animation. maybe add subtitles?

Enjoyable and sobering.

Really great concept, I liked how everything played out as an ordinary day and then it just ended in a flash (no pun intended).

The only complaints I have are the art and length. Best advice I can give to you is to keep working on your art skills, and next time lengthen the movie up a little, but it's definitely a promising beginning.
