I was closing in on 2 years without producing a game, so I decided to drop my last project and start a game I could finish in one month. That was last April. Despite being two months beyond my original deadline, I'm proud that Hectris is finally complete.
It's simple falling square gameplay and absolutely nothing else. Oh and the pieces come from four different directions. Did I mention that? 'Cause that's kind of important. Other features include 49 Cheevos, an honest-to-goodness help menu, and the ability to stop playing whenever you want to, though I hope you play for a really long time. Enjoy!

-Arrows to Move Piece
-C to Swap Piece
-Shift or X to Rotate Piece
-Space to Drop Piece

What a refreshing combination of Tetris and..some other games. I liked it, but I never really was good at tetris.. :[

Yeah, it sort of gets hard a little too fast.

This is a really addictive game and I like it a lot. I just wish we had more more on the left and right side of the screen. Seems like that escalates the difficulty really quickly. I'd like to see a sequel.

Quite different

What was interesting about this game was that you really could use only the blocks you wanted to. Of course, that also meant that it took a long time for them to be created. What's also neat is how you managed to create such good graphics. It's hard to judge this because the gameplay is so different. It's certainly something that I would recommend because of how, well, original it is. The music is nice and sets off the tone well.

It's a bit annoying with how they all have to be in the same row. I'm just so used to games where you can get rid of them all in one time. It's the kind of game you need to play a couple times to truly understand and appreciate it. It's a rather simple looking game, but still interesting to play. Congradulations on your high score.

Cool twist on Tetris

Good concept, music fit the theme of the game, the art was nice, and the colors weren't too harsh.

Only thing that bothered me was that sometimes after destroying some blocks the ones on top wouldn't fall back to the central mass for some reason.

Also, I was hoping maybe in the future you could implement some medals? :) This game deserves some, and it wouldn't be too hard since you already have the Cheevos system.

DBuck-Eye responds:

I've got plans for Hectris, don't you worry. They just may take a while :)
