Help Lifeguard Larry Deluxe save the fat kid who apparently is going to drown in a minute. Get him out of the pool safely to win the game.

This is a text based adventure game enter commands in the text box at the bottom of the screen and read the responses. This was made for the first Newgrounds Game Jam, the theme was Summer Heat. The Game Jam was completed in 2 days start to finish.

Just a side note. Some of the team is working on polishing this game up and changing it's format to a point and click adventure game. When it is submitted it will be linked here.

If you don't like the text controls on this version of the game you should try the point and click version... /portal/view/543457

I was expecting something better, the other "command" games have been way better than this, I'm sorry.

The problem is, you don't give us players a choice, you just have some strict commands that we have to input, however, if you'd make the system more flexible, and the medals worth more, I think you'd get a better grade.

No thanks.

While i appreciate this retelling of a point and click game, it simply didn't work for me. Every command was far far far too complex, and it ruined the simple appeal of the point and click version. Stumbling through every conceivable command was hardly enjoyable and it was a task only achieved through determination.

Pretty enjoyable

I think I may in fact like this a little more than your later one simply because it was a bit easier. It seems to me that you were heavily inspired by Joe Cartoon. I use the fact that the drowning fat boy looks like he is going to explode or something, as evidence. The music and overall designs are really authentic. I guess I am just not a guy who likes these kinds of games but it is interesting to see you experimenting with different styles. I am glad there were so many people working on this.
