This game was made possible by a grant from the Digital Media & Learning Competition. The goal was to make a truly educational game that was also genuinely fun to play. We hope students, teachers, and gamers will all enjoy the game, and encourage you to visit, which will soon have an open forum and eventually downloadable teacher materials.

The game was designed by Anthony Pecorella. The lead programmer was larsiusprime of Super Energy Apocalypse fame, and the art was by LILg, who created the Reincarnation series. A custom soundtrack was created by Hibiki Haruto.

Also thanks to Dr. Jed Macosko at Wake Forest University and Dr. David Dewitt at Liberty University for providing lots of support and biological guidance.

Thanks so much for the support and kind words - this has already exceeded my hopes in terms of a response for the game! :-D

This game can be processor intensive. There are some options in the menu for reducing the graphics that may help.

***Fixes in v1.0.1***
- Fixed issue in final level with some buttons suddenly no longer functioning.
- Fixed membrane explosion when recycling membrane quickly.
- Possibly fixed fatty acid glitch in Level 3
- Fixed two typos

There is still an issue with getting stuck too far outside of the colored area. Solution - don't go out there. :) It's a somewhat complicated fix, so I'm not sure if we'll get it in or not, but it's the easiest to avoid too.

Keep working.

The biggest bonus of the game is new concept, of course.
But you need to work more with this game. There was some bugs, which needs to be fixed.

Bad side is art. Well, sometimes there was no perspective, humans look unnatural. I guess you are not artist, but you must study or colaborate with someone who have that kind of skill.

Animation should be a bit smoother as well.

And last thing - all speaking parts should be recorded.

But anyway, i enjoyed this game.

CellCraft responds:

Thanks for the review. The bugs have mostly been fixed now (or so we hope!). The art style was meant to mimic what you would see in a biology text book and try to bring that to life (most of the colors match the colors used in scientific drawings). We actually did have a talented artist work on this (LILg, who made the Reincarnation series), so I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one, but to each his own I suppose.

Originally we wanted to record the voices, but it would have made the filesize even bigger and would have taken more time/money than we had. I think it's fun to imagine the voices anyway, but I can see how people would like to hear what Jeeves actually sounded like. :)

Fun game, bugs out constantly

Literally 2/3 times I cannot finish the final mission because the Golgi Body simply stops responding to clicks. I think it has something to do with the player producing toxins faster than the pre-programmed viral waves can keep up with. Other players have mentioned a similar problem in other reviews, I've had it stop anywhere from 60-90%.

CellCraft responds:

Sorry about that! I think we've fixed it with v1.0.1, which is live on NG now. Sorry for it bugging out though - I know how frustrating that can be, especially when you're almost done with the final, fairly difficult level! :-/

Educational Game...Ewww

Thats normally my first thoughts when i see that something is trying to educational AND fun. Normally people dont do a very good job of combining the two. But i have to say this game was Very fun and i truly enjoyed it.

There was the questions of what will happen next (because i know very little about this kinda stuff.) Which made me want to keep playing and getting more little organs.
"The goal was to make a truly educational game that was also genuinely fun to play." <<< Good Job.

Pretty fun and educational

I'd use it to study for a biology test dude... Other than that the story was okay, the mechanics were pretty accurate, and you had a sarcastic robot. 8 outta 10 dude Gj.
