I would like to thank Tom Fulp for sponsoring this game and PsychoGoldish for helping me set up the flash API. Sorry, I'm just a teenager, I'm partially stupid when it comes to... everything. Forgive me and the dozens of emails I have spammed you with.

Also, this game will lag if you have anything under a 2.00 GHz processer. Do not rate it down because it lags for you, it isn't my fault if your computer does not have a processer that can play it,

P.S.: There was not enough room for me to link to all the songs in the game, so here are the ones that I didn't mention in order of visitation in game:

Moovlin PC's Emergency Song - "Hurry Up!": /audio/listen/188340
Planet Lavarious - "Hellstruck Heights": /audio/listen/330004
Into The Volcano - "The Land of the Night....": /audio/listen/303810

A work of love, a product of futility

Just not that good. It would appear all of that 1.5 years was put into some average-to-good imagery for the game without any attention paid to mechanics or creativity. Gameplay is not simplistic - simplicity has the potential for elegance - it is simply a carbon copy of other limited, boring systems. Remember Sonic the Hedgehog? I liked it when I played it the first time, 12 years ago. Additionally, the length is what draws out the hollow realization that there just isn't much there.

Nothing in this says it is "yours", but rather you spent the time just transferring knowledge of others work into your own homebrew creation. When someone really promotes how long they've invested in something (1.5 years, "almost two years", whatever), it typically indicates some sense of insecurity in the work, or lack of relativity for what they've done. Some of the 10s awarded must be based on an appreciation of simply time invested, rather than product created.

Wish you had focused on your Grade 10 exam and not failed it.

All that said, the backgrounds were pretty nice to look at.

Psychofig responds:

I coded this from scratch and I didn't transfer knowledge. It is an inspired creation, but it is not a copy.

Kwing asked me to paste this: While the system isn't particularly original, it's a platformer. You run and jump and slide. Such things are to be expected, and you really can't make a platformer any other way. I don't see how you have the right to attack this platformer for its engine; if you had a problem with the level design, then by all means complain about it, but th eengine itself isn't bad. The level design for the first several levels are admittedly poor, but after the Sunshine Plains I think the game really starts to pick up. I know that's when I started really enjoying the game. You also attack that Julian stated the game took two years to make. If you spent two years on a project, I know you would say it took that long in the description box. Julian didn't even boast about the time he's spent on it, he just threw it in the description box. The fact that you chose to highlight it yourself shows something about you. Not to mention that the creator of the Fallen Angel stated that he spent over a year putting together the first three episodes, yet you choose to attack Moovlin PC specifically.I respect your dislike but not your complaints.

2 years?

Dude this took you 2 years to make? Couldn't you have polished the movement a little?

Psychofig responds:

I polished it as much as I could for what I had. Could you PM and tell me why you gave it a 2? I feel it deserves much more for the amount of work put into it.

I hope this didn't really take you two years cause if it did then damn...don't quit your day job. The story was boring, you couldn't skip through it, and the controls worked like crap. Also the background and characters were boring. I gave you one point for every year you spent making it.

For a game as full of itself as this one...

I was really expecting more than a bad Sonic clone.

Gameplay is repetitive. I wasn't aware that "serious ass-kicking" involved coin collecting. Gear collecting. Whatever. The graphics look like you spent 5 minutes in MSPaint creating them all and the rest of the 1,051,892 minutes figuring out how you can make your main character as RAD AND ZANY as possible. You failed at both. The music is laughable. It's hardly appropriate, and... what the fuck is going on in the cheese level. I don't know. I don't want to know. What would ever make you select that track? Grating doesn't define it. Top it off with the fact that Moovlin delivers his lines with the most deadpan zeal I've ever heard to an anti-government Alvin the fucking Chipmunk Robot and you get the worst piece of aural rape on the Portal.

All this would be acceptable since it's your first submission (after all, everyone has to start somewhere, not everyone is a great artist, et cetera) but the game takes itself far, far too seriously to let it slide with that excuse. It's insulting to the senses to have so many medals thrown at the player, the game constantly tell you that you're in for the biggest thrill of your life and Moovlin is such the smart-aleck, wise-cracking, asskicking protagonist of the decade, only to get the same crappy gameplay from level to level. The plot's so cliched and the gameplay so hollow that it would only appeal to a (much) younger audience, yet I feel that's not what you were going for in the least. And you spent TWO YEARS on this? It's like the Heaven's Gate of Newgrounds without Kris Kristofferson.

Hopefully you'll put a little more effort into your next big release in 2012.

Not good at all.

The controls, graphics and animations are very basic. They aren't very pleasant to look at.
The levels are boring and bland. You get stopped in your path many times due to poorly placed walls in the environment.
The spinning move idea is a terrible and serves no purpose. Just hold down D and keep running. No need to let go of it.
Those machines that stop you in your path and damage your health look like shit, and even when I spin passed them, they still don't die.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm credits theme used as the level select screen seemed out of place and didn't match the game at all.
The death scene was very poorly made, and you created the blood by drawing 1 straight line with a red colored paint tool.
The voice overs for the cut scenes were uninteresting and bland.

This is one of those games where you finish the first level, then close the game. I think you're trolling when you say it took 2 years.
