7/08/2010 :: Just wanted to thank all of you (especially the NG crew) for all the support of my first animation. It has been such an inspiration, I've already begun my next project ... which will be of a much higher caliber, I promise. Seriously, thanks so much :D

6/29/2010 :: Updated Sound Quality.

!!WARNING!! This video is an "inside reference" to Castlevania SotN. There's a good chance if you haven't played it, you may not get the running gag. Otherwise, enjoy :D

I remember the first time I ever heard that damned librarian, "Young Master, I cannot aid one who opposes the Master." My buddy Nate and I did a double-take and couldn't stop laughing for an hour. That would have been about 10 years ago.

I also found it hilarious that the developers would throw in an Easter egg like smashing the librarian into the ceiling 100 times...haven't seen an in-game Castlevania gag like that for a while.

I've been meaning to milk that joke for about a decade. And...finally...here it is. The video took roughly three days between work and sleep. It's my very first completed Flash video of any kind. So, be gentle...

Special thanks to the wonderfully creative folks at NG, and especially Egoraptor ... who I know has been an inspiration to many :)

Augh my ears

There was a high pitched noise throughout the flash that hurt my ears quite a bit.

Other than that tht was some sexy flash.

RicePirate responds:

I heard it during the music, too... I think it's a compression issue with the mp3 of the music. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to update that. Soz on the earz ... I hear ya.

Good animation, good voices, and an interesting storyline make this a good video.

RicePirate responds:

Thanks for the good review :)

Not bad for the first shot around. Voices were on cue, animation was pretty fluid and it was pretty funny to watch. Great job!

RicePirate responds:

That's generous considering what I was working with ... namely a lack of experience in creating cartoons. But it was a great learning experience.

This made me lol so hard. I always hated that old man too. :D

Also "If you be not my ally than be you my be my you enemy"

lol'd so hard. Good work for a first finished flash. I hope it sticks around.

RicePirate responds:

There was always something a little off about how they translated the dialogue, especially the awkward 17th century negative-reversals, "Think you not, I don't not remember my mother...not!". Glad you liked it.

But Master...

hahaha! Im sure that must have bugged the crap out of you lol. Thanks for sharing :)

RicePirate responds:

He bugged me ... especially every time you purchased an item... made crushing his head all the more satisfying.
