Hi, Newgrounds. I thought I would never have to say that, but long time no see. Anyway, many sleepless months went into making this one, so I really hope you like it.

So what is it about, you may ask? Well, what can possibly be more fun than chess pieces that come to life to beat the snot, blood and brains out of each other.

The game is entirely mouse operated.

In case you mess up, you can always "undo turn".

Can you see all 50 animations? The hardest ones to achieve are the best, for instance the king is badass when killing an enemy. If you click on the "executions" button in the main menu it tells you which ones you've seen and which ones you haven't.

I spent some time creating an entertaining in-game "chess rules" section, which thoroughly explains all the rules of the game on 14 pages. Hopefully, beginner and intermediate players will find it useful.

Wow, Daily First, Weekly 3rd in Games, Weekly 8th Overall, Monthly 8th in Games and more than 200K plays? You guys are amazing!

Thank you for playing, have fun and see you soon with a new submission :)

I have looked for a chess game like this where chess pieces have personality and fighting animations for a long time and here it is! Great! I love the Warcraft referances too!
Just a few criticisms why I gave 4 stars and not 5.
1.After player unlocks animation he should be able to view it from menu. I am surprized there is no such option.
2.Ability to change difficulties would be nice - generally Harder difficulties are required, while this easy difficulty should also remain.
3.I understand the humor but as far as animations go a full knight would be cooler then just a horse.

Very entertaining. Another version of battle chess. Pity about the AI being so silly, but its all about the kills, not the game. If you want a serious chess AI, there's plenty out there. Just a word on castling, it's not if the rook is under attack, it's only if the king is under attack during the move (in my first game, I tried castling while the rook was being attacked and couldn't).

As fun as it was, I couldn't be bothered trying for all the endings. How long would it take to get all the king kills? I'm not going to find out.

RatherRandomReality responds:

How long will it take? Less than it took to animate those for sure. Thanks for playing!

Woefully stupid AI, it just threw its pieces at me and I trounced it, it's shameful that THIS is the best one on Newgrounds, the only one even resembling one in fact! Also I was really hoping that when a pawn was promoted, it would have an animation of him going into a doctor's office to get a sex change operation, ha ha, but I guess the author of the game wasn't quite that creative. Really missed out on that opportunity there, that would have been funny and memorable.

stick01 it's funny and ironic you can claim to use correct "grammer", though I'm not sure if spelling counts as a form of grammar. All the same, I think you should go eat some grammar crackers, ha ha.
