UPDATED v.1.3.0 (25th May 2010)
The following changes have been made in response to player feedback:

The game has been re-optimised to reduce RAM requirements which should now prevent problems during mission load that some users on lower spec machines have been experiencing. Please note that the recommended level of RAM required for this game is 2GB.

Right click to remove auto-zoom. To completely prevent zooming you also need to turn auto-quality off

Trafalgar Origins is an educational online game set against a backdrop of British, French and Spanish tensions during the Napoleonic wars. In the game you take command of a Royal Navy ship and her crew, to go to battle in historical recreations of Napoleonic naval battles.

There are two modes of gameplay - Single Player and Multi-player.

There are 18 single player missions in total, split into 3 main groupings of Training, Arcade and Historic.

Training missions help you learn how to sail their ship as well as build up and manage your crew.

Arcade missions build on skills acquired during training, enabling you to take part in real nautical exercises, defeating foes, sinking ships and collecting loot.

Historic missions recreate actual skirmishes experienced by Nelson and the allied navy where you pit your skills against enemy ships.

The multi-player option allows you to play together in real time against up to four other users.

Have fun!

Great game

But the biggest problem is that there are issues with loading, especially in multiplayer. It just gets stuck on the loading screen, so all you can do is refresh. Not sure what's going on there...
The auto zoom can also get stuck close up in multiplayer, making it more difficult to see your opponents, although I'm not sure if this is intentional after a few kills...
Oh well, to be fair it's amazing to even have multiplayer!
Also might be nice to have a little extra time to collect loot from the last enemy in a single player mission or just pick it up automatically, but you can just get close enough to pick it up anyway so that's not much of a problem.
In terms of gameplay, good difficulty, smooth controls, and nice idea for upgrades, although it would be good to have a damage boost upgrade separately as well as decreased reload time.

loading, loading, loading, loading.........

Sometimes, before the mission would start. It would sit there and just load forever, sometimes, never loading at all. I have adequate bandwidth and the recommended hardware. Its not frozen because you can still click on the instructions button and its not using up an extreme amount of RAM on the computer, its getting annoying cause I started liking this game, but not this part.

Pretty good...

But like The Rezonator said,it could use some improvements.Still a good game though,Next on the angenda should be one about Wellington's campaigns in India and Portugal.France could be the third!
