Cool movie. My only issue is that the video shown has 100 cm scale before the 1 m mark, even though 100 centimetres is equal to one metre.

This is a reasonably scale-accurate representation. You can find much more scientific versoins elsewhere on the internet, which are worth a look too, but this is more of a stylised version. Enjoy.

I think if it were more continuous and just kept repeating at the same speed it'd be nice. It seems to jump from area to area though.

I haven't seen the movie you're refering to. It's a common idea that has been repeated many times. I noted the fact that it wasn't original in the Author's Comments. I love the idea. This is just my take on it.
