5 Shades!

Welcome to the newest of The Five Shades collaborations, back after years since the last. Today we tackle Orange, with the theme word being "Ring". Artists were asked to use five specific shades of Orange to create whatever animations their imaginations could provide.

For more of The Five Shades, check out the home of the series right here on Newgrounds: /collection/thefiveshades .html

Artists include: Flying Giraffe, Nayhan, Falling, Carton O' Milk, Carrot Cake, Tim P., Thomas Todd, Cloud Eater, JKR, and Bogoblin. A huge thanks to everyone who participated! EDIT: And SUPER thanks for the front page honor. We all appreciate it greatly!

Its been awhile

Overall, it was a good 5 shades collab. It doesn't have that kick like all the previous ones did, and it seemed that the majority of the parts weren't really that complicated, which gives it a nice every day person made feel to it, but it also made it not as memorable.

Like I said, overall it was good, but not as great as all of the previous ones.

But hey, after such a long time since the last 5 shades, this isn't too bad at all.

What a great collab! :D

I really enjoyed how my part made so much more sense then everyone elses (sarcasm). I'll make mine a bit more understandable next time. Overall all the submissions were pretty good. I despise the amount of line tool animation and the lack of brush tool in some peoples parts.

Some of these are snippets or slices of an event or life. I really dig that. You don't need to establish a buildup, you just go with it and the viewer assumes some things.

Obviously, some are better than others. I'm wary of collabs because I'm very tired of some artists who just draw random squiggles bouncing around and calling it an equal part of a submission, but there's none of that. (Well, I honestly couldn't get anything out of Cloud Eater's. Sorry.) Overall, I was entertained and gave you a 5/5 for it.

I don't get it? Uh, the only one I enjoyed was the one by Carrot Cake. Otherwise, they were all pretty bland. Sorry. Maybe more time to think about what to put in the animation?
