There's a peculiar creature in the cellar, and the little brown bug is growing hungry.

My first Newgrounds submission, and my first attempt at a flash animation.

EDIT: For the addition to the featured movies list for today - thanks to everyone for voting!
EDIT: And another big thanks for Daily 2nd!

jesus f***king christ dude,

that was the most horrifically creepiest thing i have ever seen sense i saw Rob Zombie's "House of a Thousand Corpses". there was a point half in the video where i actually felt a strong shiver coarse through my arms making the hairs on my arms stand up on end. if this was your first attempt at MX flash, then jesus, it was good.

i read your post, and yes, i hope your future projects get the same response to. keep up the good work, and maybe watch that rob zombie movie for a bit of inspiration if you're gonna keep making creepy short stories.

i especially liked how you started off by describing the setting through the bug's point of view, a classic horror movie element i see used time to time.

10 stars, voted 5, loved it, and i'm DYING to see more!

JohnDavidHeptinstall responds:

Haha I'm a big fan of both House of 1000 corpses and The Devil's Rejects - I absolutely love those films - Thanks very much for the vote and the support!

amazinbly gross

but pretty good

Animation= 7/10 (Was a little choppy but I liked how you covered it with lighting changes)
Music= 8/10 (Creepy as a good horror flick but the timing seemed a little off)
Story= 6/10 (It could have used a good intro)
Ending= 6/10 (Should maybe have had a little extra creepiness instead of just the one bug eating the chewed up one like maybe the bug that eats the dead one mutating into something even nastier)

Score= 27/40

ooh you indeed have sussed me out - I did use the lighting as a cover up - although I intended from the beginning to use it as a means to add atmos. Thanks for the review - and advice, it was very constructive!
