Autism - Inside a Bubble

My wife has been working with autistic children for over 10 years and I actually met her while working with disabled adults in Pennsylvania. We put together new software to help teachers of Autistic children and this is a little poem and animation I created to help get the message out.
All narrated by one of our great boys Malachy (aged 4)

at an earlier age.....so true so true.
if i had been diagnosed as a child rather then my parents thinking i would use it as a crutch and just labeling my problems as being lazy or acting out on purpose maybe things would be easier now for me. I wish people were more understanding of this condition. people often say it's not a real illness but it is. it truely is hell.

I don't normally show NG flash to my parents...

But I showed this to my mom. And she cried. It was a very nice little poem and animation you gave us here.

I have aspergers syndrome and my brother is a very high functioning autistic child who didn't speak until he was five.

I really adore this flash

i have severe autism and thought of this as a way to get out of this color coated life i am living in

This means alot to me....

Yeah, it's always felt like this. (I'm a bit Autistic, but not severely) But this is pretty much how I feel alot of the times. Why include myself in a world where everybody just rejects or makes fun of you? Problem is, people are social creatures. So as I become secluded and hide away from the world, I long for something that I cannot achieve. I wasn't given the tools at a young age. Being 20 years old I still feel like I'm not able to include myself in the world quite yet. I play all my games just to make another day go by, since I have nobody else I can share it with. It's hard for us to communicate, and we try our best to please others. I hope the people that read this will be more aware of people like me. Don't put them down, try to understand us. Sure, we may be annoying and loud, but that's because nobody will listen. We struggle so much to be heard. But when we are not, you only reinforce our fear of the world.

Good message, I guess...

the fact that the guy in the bubble had a face which wasn't flattering, and that the narration was done by a child, gave the animation a condescending tone, which I'm sure some high functioning autistic individuals would find highly patronizing. That being said, I have the misfortune of being one, and I found it highly patronizing. Good message though. Oh, and well animated. Sound quality was a bit fuzzy, but doesn't subtract from the animation at all.
