NOTE: This is the full animation! So you don't have to watch part one, it's included in this! Just click the 'play the movie!' button. It's named 'part 2', but it's really the whole thing.

Glenn gives Annie a drawing she likes, winning over her heart. Annie spends the rest of the day trying to coax Glenn into romancing her. All he wants to do is draw, though.

This is the entire animation as it was meant to be seen! It's a whopping 13 minutes long, so don't watch if you don't have that much time to spare. I updated the first half as well, rendering 'part 1' obsolete. So if you haven't seen it already, don't bother, it's included in this. (unless you want to watch it anyway, to see what's different between the two versions or whatever).

Hope you guys enjoyed this, I spent about 9 months-ish working on it (of actual work, anyway), so I hope it pleases! Happy Valentines day!

EDIT: Thanks for the front page!

It was good, but there were some flaws

First, I'd like to say that your use of angles is good (though somewhat excessive, almost to the point of dizzyness), your drawing style is good and your animation is good. There are several areas in this, which are not so good:
1. Music: Really, really painful at times. I would seriously recommend getting someone else to do the music. It just didn't suit the piece.
2. Pacing: Much too slow. The entire plot and message could have been conveyed in 1-2 minutes and your story would have been far more effective for it. You don't need to show every detail of every character's actions, movements or emotions.
3. The characterisation/voice acting: The grunts got really annoying and were far too obvious. You can get a hell of a lot more meaning from non-verbal communication than: "I'm annoyed" "I'm happy". The part where the girl did a series of motions to convey something before they entered the restaurant was so unclear that it was almost comedic. I didn't empathise with any of the characters. Also, if you are going to use proper words, use them throughout. If you want to do the grunting thing, do that throughout. Don't have characters who do both.

Overall, I think that the problem could be that you are overthinking it. Try to simplify your ideas and I'm sure we'll see a massive improvement. I'm looking forward to seeing something that takes all of the advice into account.

Bobert-Rob responds:

Well, I actually like it for its length. I'm really not the kind of guy who likes stupid short animations, so many other people do it that it's maddening. I'm sorry you didn't get into it, but I wouldn't change a minute of it. I did everything according to what I thought would be good, and it turned out well in my opinion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter, though.

I would be lying if i said i wasnt disapointed. I usually love your work, but i just dont get it. I know and love the first one, but honestly, this one seemed to just be a nonsensical rehash of the same story.

The first one wasn't even finished. This is the entire thing. Hence, the first five minutes are the same thing, then the story continues. Sorry it disappointed.

the disorder and the pills

i have no idea what just happened. i just tripped balls sober and i'm coming down from this awful high hard.

a 3 for being utterly baffling on three points

characters = why do they appear to be adults but are seemingly students in an elementary school class?
'glenn has a bevy of mental issues going on: inability to focus, unable to distinguish the progression of child-to-adult activities, unable to comprehend the purpose simple objects like bouquets, lack of simple survival desires such as reproach from strangers and eating, and rampant hallucinations.

why does he suddenly change all his inklings about the girl the second he sees his previous drawing, smooch her, and run off hollering?

our female lead isn't much better since although she demands fine dining and apparel, she's instantly wooed by a crayon drawing made by a grown man who lays stomach-down on the carpet using crayola fats. sure, there are well-adjusted people who still prefer childhood hobbies like mindless doodling, but they get a sketchbook and a pencil.

plot = very few of the shenanigans really contributed to the story at all and about half of this flash felt like padding, but it was hard padding to even follow.

score = the music was a constant jarring trip-inducer, it followed no mood of the characters and had no cohesive melody, compounded with the fact that the whole thing was shot like a point-of-view horror movie, i felt nauseous and battered by the end....
....the end that never came.

I didnt understand the character's age, where they got the money, the point of the sun/other objects given movement, or any reason for her to like him other then she thought he was cute. this was a waste of your effort.
