The Straw Hat Samurai is back with new moves, air-combos, new enemies, new bosses... and more slashing and blood!

Finally got permission from the sponsor to release on Newgrounds. Enjoy! =)

v1.2: Streamlined levels, longer shunpo mode duration, score doesn't reset when selecting continue, removed penalty for falling off platforms

1) Headshots are instant kills.
2) Your line needs to start below the enemy if you want to launch him for air-combos.
3) In level 2, you need to draw a line from one platform to the next in order to jump from one platform to another. Your jump begins ONLY at the start of the line and ends at the endpoint of the line so start your line at the current position of the Samurai for best results.
4) Activate shunpo mode when enemies are vulnerable to perform more damage. Especially for bosses.
5) It is inefficient to attack armoured enemies by spamming slashes. Look out for their openings/weaknesses and use the special moves.
6) Projectiles can be deflected by slashing them.
7) When you are launched, activate shunpo mode to give yourself time to counter.

Ehy, it was fun. and very original. really liked the dea of the game itself. i think maybe you should work on the character a bit, found him a bit boring.

In comparison to part 1

Well, there you go, my first review of a game/toon on newgrounds.

I have been waiting for part 2 of this series for a while. I love the first part and was eager to start playing part two. Unfortunately, I was not very pleased with the result.

The graphics are about the same as the first one, absolutely nothing wrong there, I like the look and feel of the game. The sound gets repetitive but not in such a way that it gets anoying.

Where I think you went wrong in this version of the game is the introduction of flaming arrows, airwalking and the bosses. To start with the flaming arrows (and count the firebombs there as well). They light places on fire but due to the lack of proper control of the samurai, you are not able to outmanouver the flaming fields (which damage you badly). Airwalking is way too glitchy to let an almost entire level count on that technique. I can't even begin to count the amount of times I have fallen off of those cliffs due to the lack of good control of the samurai.

The first 3 bosses were okay to beat I guess. Though the third one gets pretty annoying. Putting up computer mathematics against a human player is just plain cruel. Though I was able to beat him with 2 continues. Now, the last boss is just frustrating. There was too much going on to actually focus on the boss himself. Flaming grass, flying enemys, heatseaking boms (seriously, what's up with those?), giant lasers and finally an almost not dodgable turtle attack. The boss himself could sometimes remain in the beast for over 5 minutes giving me no chance of an attack. Took me almost 5 continues to beat this one.

I like the new combosystem you brought into the game, and also the fact that you could smite enemys to the ground to plant the sword through their chest. The new enemys are fun to play with but I couldn't help but feel that this version of the game just lacks the controls and precision of the first one.

Conclusion: a nice looking game with an awesome manner of controlling your character. Unfortunately not tested enough I think, and too frustrating causing it to loose it's guarantee to be played more than once.

So there you have it. I hope I have been of some help.

Hint: For the final boss, there is something that you need to do before the boss comes out into the open.
