good game
the one downside is difficulty but other than that great concept. also thought the music was cool too. i like the symbol crash when the swarm explody-like thing :)

This was primarily a game that I used to learn AS3. I didn't have any plan going into it (hence the "improv game") and just kinda started programming. A few weekends later I ended up with this. It's not great, but it's a fun distraction and I learned some AS3, so that's good enough for me. It works well on new machines, but can drag a little on older ones. I'm not sure how to optimize performance much more though - suggestions certainly welcome. :)
Feedback: Thanks for the feedback so far everyone! I actually haven't played Resistance 2 - sounds like they stole my difficulty name. ;) I definitely was't aiming for #1 slots for the day or anything, so the score so far is perfectly fine and probably accurate. I'm a little concerned that it didn't load for someone - not sure what was up with that.
In any case, thanks for the warm welcome to Newgrounds - 'tis my first Flash game, but won't be the last. And in the future they'll be a little more than a quick, short distraction game. :)
great concept.
like i said before, good concept and nice idea. but even while playing when you try to do the loop to get the most points i found that i was always getting hit. controls are a little too loose for this kind of game.

Thanks for the review! It's definitely tough and takes some practice. I spent a while tuning the controls, and had to make some decisions based on avoiding exploits. For example, in some control setups you could just do circles and constantly buzz half the swarm. I also originally had the up arrow adjust speed, but it turned out to be too easy to stay just a little ahead of the swarm. This was the best compromise I hit - perhaps not ideal but I think it avoids any obvious ways of easily racking up points.

The game doesn't load, but I saw positive reviews, and I think this game is good so I will give it 4/5 and 8/10.

Hmm, sorry to hear it won't load. It's pretty simple, but I did try putting MochiAds at the beginning - hopefully that's not screwing anything up. :/

All achievements done? Bravo! The game's on Kongregate as well but the high score so far is less than 50,000, so no one's gotten that last achievement yet. Looks like you were the first. :)

i think we have a resistance 2 fan here lol, OMGWTFBBQ sounds familiar..
other than that the game is quite good for an improv game, a bit hard tho

Haha - actually haven't had a chance to play that game yet. Sounds like the type of thing Insomniac would do though. :) Thanks for the compliment, and yeah - difficulty is interesting with this game. It was actually a good bit tougher before a beta tester made me tune it down. ;)
