"How will you counter bullet hell without any gun?"

Hiya all, our unordinary theme today is 'gunless' :). How does that feel to be the one of the "unarmed enemies" you destroyed in the other shooter games?


Control a gunless ship. Evade thousands of enemies' bullets. Use Energy shield that can absorb and repel their projectiles to destroy themselves. Endure endless enemy waves and see how far can you go. Try to progress further with upgrades and achievements!

- Mouse to navigate your ship
- Hold left mouse button to deploy your shield
- Release left mouse button to blast your shield (releases bullets absorbed and reflects nearby bullets as well).
- P to Pause
- M to switch Music on/off
- S to switch SFX on/off
- V to switch voices on/off

If you find the game needs more balancing or find a bug please do tell me... The Upgrade prices is fixed though. It is high because it's only have 9 levels... You'll get to the max in not time if i reduced it.

Also i find people have different way to play. There are people who absorb the bullets as much as he can then release it for full force, there are types that aim carefully and reflect the bullets back to the enemies, and there are also people who stay stationary, allowing them to be a cannon fodder "intentionally" and waiting for counterattack. Glad to see people find their own ways to overcome the condition ^^.

The game has style

A carpet fire game based around taking bullets to the face.

Thats a difficult adjustment when youve been doing it the normal way for years on end.

Gut-wrenchingly, agonisingly hard.

Firstly - there's been a number of indie/flash games with similar mechanics to this, the most prominent being Clean Asia. It's not a common feature, but I've seen it before, mostly in bullet-hell shooters, so it's not an incredibly innovative idea, although it's pretty cool.

Now, I'm normally not adverse to difficulty, but this game is a whole new level of hard. You need to reset once every few minutes, and often the amount of points earned is disproportional to the actual skill you use in defeating the enemies. It takes forever to get to level three in all the upgrades, for example. That's probably because of the constant, unavoidable bullet hell. The game wouldn't be the same without it, of course, but perhaps slowing the bullets down or something would improve it, and allow players to earn more points in longer rounds, rather than being forced to click the reset button every ten seconds.

That said, it's a good showcase for a concept that needs to be used as a core gameplay mechanic more, and the upgrades were (mostly) genuinely useful.

Nice but

very difficult and the upgrades cost too much points for the improvement they offer.Maybe a slow health regen and some cheap upgrades would make this great.

Good timewaster

This game is fun. Gets a little old after a while, but good if you have some time to kill. The only major complaint I can give is that the instructions are very vague. It would be much easier to play the game if you were given a better description of what to do.

very nice game

it got some good atmosphere and i like the upgrade system, but tehre's a glitch i noticed that i hope u fix. If u finish a phase but at the same time u die, the game stops and you lose all points u made during that game, which kinda sucks when u reached a very high score.
