**** Set to either LOW or MEDIUM (High/best really messes up the sync)****

After 3 weeks of working with flash, I present to you, dear viewer, my first flash animation.

This was originally my final project for my intro to animation course. Throughout the semester we used traditional means of animation, and for our final, we could use any medium we wanted. I wanted to try my hand in flash animation, and this is the result. Since then, I went back and added and changed a few things. This was a rushed towards the end days, so as you will probably be able to see, the quality goes down as the movie progresses.

Since I have little to no actionscript knowledge, there is sadly no replay button. To avoid things from going off sync, I would suggest either LOW or MEDIUM quality, which is located in the bottom left corner beneath the pre-loader. Also, I encourage and want constructive criticism, I really want to get much better.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it :)

OK but,,,

I liked the animation. The colours were really good, and it was a good pointer about not using the highest quality. What prevents me from giving this a 9 or 10/10 is the sound effects. They were kind of cheesy and I think you could have honestly chosen some better ones. It would have made the movie seem a bit more refined.

The sound died randomly towards the end and whilst you put a good amount of detail in places, you could spend a bit more time increasing the frame rate. Otherwise, a perfectly good pointless fight in a forest.

Tyler responds:

yeah, had some technical things. actionscript is very confusing to me right now.
thanks for the review.

Your FIRST flash?!

I suspect bs! lol :P

This was just too good for a first time! The animation and art quality in general was very well done. Though the frame rate seemed a little jumpy at times, it didn't effect the greatness of the flash overall. You had some exteremely well done action sequences, my favourite in particular had to be where the main character splits the big guy in half.

One little glitch I noticed (though I can't say I know how to fix it) is that your background music track stops and doesn't automatically loop when it gets to the end.

Great work though!
I look forward to seeing more from you!!

haha, well I have done art in the digital form before, so it wasnt too hard to
draw since I'm accustomed to the tablet. but thank you! theres a few
technical things I need to fix, but thanks for the review!
