Dragonrage is an arcade-style dungeon crawler with hoards of monsters to slay and items to discover. Here's how to play:

Movement: WASD
Attack: J while moving (it's a dash-style attack)
Pause: P
Mute: M
Help: H

For those interested, I put together a spoiler page documenting all the items and secrets:

Thanks to everyone for the amazing feedback. There was so much we wanted to do with Dragonrage but opted to keep it simple for our first project. An ambitious sequel is definitely in the works so we'll see you guys in a few months. =) Also, thanks to Tom and Newgrounds for the front-page love. It's been an exciting week!

Major kudos to anyone who has achieved RAGEMASTER status. That's seriously nuts... I haven't even been able to do it! Maybe I'll send you guys cupcakes.

Also, it's been brought to my attention that some subfloors are dead-ends (stairs don't appear). This isn't supposed to happen and I apologize if it happened to you. =( I'd love to correct this but I've been unable to replicate the bug thus far (making it difficult for me to fix). If you've been a victim of this horrible bug and would like to help us out, PM me these details:

- Your browser and version (for instance, Firefox 3.5.7)
- Your Flash Player version (for instance,
- Your OS (for instance, Windows XP Pro SP3)
- Your machine's basic CPU and RAM specs (for instance, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM)

In the meantime, if you're not running the latest version of Flash Player I'd highly recommend downloading it.

Thanks for playing!

good potential, meh execution

you need more then one button, why not use a power-up system for a soft of "special attack" to be used with the second button, which changes depending on what power-up you picked up. as it is now you just mash the J key over and over, which makes the game a bit repetitive in the process. other then that, it seemed a good game, minus the few gripes i listed above.

Simple, yet VERY addicting. I liked it... for a while ;)

fun, but gets a little boring

it's fun at first, but as Sinisterniik said, it would be good to have some form of variation, maybe upgrades for weapons, or weapon pick ups, or another way to attack.

It could be better

As Sinisterniik said mashing one button pointlessley is boring!
The grafics are good
you should change the control layout to the arrow keys since it's more comfortable

On The Contrary

I don't understand what people love about this game so much.

It only has ONE button... Look, I grew up with an Atari, and any good game that only had one button required precision. -Like Centipede and Space Invaders. But this game is a carpal tunnel-inducing button masher. Even the NES had two buttons. I mean, it could be anything: A shield, a magic spell, a kick, a chainsaw, very small rocks, churches... Basically, some variety would have been nice.

And the help screen should come up when you first start the game.
