This was a project I've been working on for about a year and a half. I'm happy to finally be able to share the final product. The goals of this work were to improve my ability to make backgrounds--because if you know me (or have seen any of my past works/excuses) --they aren't my strongest suit. :3

So what I tried to do was make a mellow episode of a series that mostly only had over-the-top action scenes. This would give me grounds to strengthen an ability to make something beautiful to look at, as well as fun to watch.

***To put the story simply: Ilu would love to be a conductor when she grows up. Likewise, her friends would love to be great artists, dancers, and even skilled musicians. But the daily mechanical grind of their lives don't really lead to any real chances to find that love they're searching for. By the end of the animation, neither Ilu nor any of her friends reach their goals--but based on Ilu's passion, they all get a bit closer somehow. And that was the kind of animation I wanted to make. ***

What you see here is what I'm honored to share with you.

(I'd love supportive comments just as much as the next guy, but if you have something critical to add, please--PLEASE--do so too. Thought-rich comments appreciated above all else.)

Thanks you very much for the Daily 1st, Newgrounds community.
Woot for the FrontPage, NG Staff! I appreciate this so much. :3

Interesting, but a little hard to follow.

I really enjoyed watching the animation.

Honestly, I didn't get it until I read the synopsis and rewatched. Part of my problem would have been the character design, I sincerely had trouble differentiating between the characters. They all had very similar faces and identical hair which made it a bit hard to follow.

But there is a lot of action character movement which was great, and there was clearly a lot of impressive detail put into a portion of this, which you deserve kudos from.

Hopefully see more from you soon :)

I added this animation to favorites a long time ago and i just watched it. In a time of my life where I feel like I'm stuck in a rut this has help. Animators don't get the thanks they deserve for all the work they put into it. So thank you for being a great animator and helping me through a tough time.

I'm touched...

I don't understand why..
When I saw this just made me so happy..made my mind wonder not only inside the animation but my life itself of every day life and the memories and etc....and other people lives too...
im so moved by this, I'll admit started to tear up a little..haha..

Keep up the good work!

My previous view of this universe holds true

I'm amazed that I didn't write a review of this the *first* time that I saw it. I'm sorry that it took me so long to fix that. I keep watching this and keep finding more things to love about it.

If you've forgotten my previous view of the universe you've created: I believe that all these characters are emotions or aspirations within the mind. I'm pleased and surprised that that analogy holds water in this submission as well. We follow the characters that aspire to become artists, composers and dancers, but no normal person can master all three of those talents at once, so each is forced to be contented with minimal growth till a consensus is reached between them all.

By the end of the movie we see that each person, or "Aspect", has developed a little skill in their individual area of choice, but only by working together. They have also found parallels that the each enjoy in seemingly mundane tasks. In truth that's what each of us as a person face as we go through our own lives. "Find what you love in what you do. "

What I find *REALLY* interesting is the dream-scape that the Composer Aspect visits. It reminds me of our subconscious. the place we can't reach under our own power, the area of the brain that is active but always just out of reach. Or perhaps, more importantly, the potential of growth in every mind to do more. It's grayed out because it's not yet realized or not accessible, and the Security Tape is either the self imposed limitations we put on ourselves or physical/mental limitations that prevent skills from surfacing.

I've never tired of watching your vids and I don't think I'll start now, so once again... Fantastic work and a pleasure to watch. Do you have any other works in the making that I should look forward to? :D

Truly since I've ever started animating, this is the most redeeming review I've ever received--solely for the reason that I feel completely understood.

One of the best

I have watched this animation over 10 times in the last couple months and it has still not gotten old. Great job, I love the style and mix of animations. The Characters really show personality and accomplish allot of depth in a short amount of time.
Good choice of music too. Keep up the good work :)
