Thanks Tom for the front page!

This has been finished since, like, before summer. I worked on it for around three weeks in hopes of finishing it in time for the student showcase, but ended up missing the deadline by a full week. Just recently, though, I dusted it off and decided to fix a couple of bad (horrible) areas and submit it.

It was a test in many things for me:

-Moving away from the anime style
-More exaggerated lipsync
-Full body movement
-More focus on character emotion
-Color theory
-More versatile camera angles/movement/editing
-After Effects/Flash integration
-Sound effect/music editing

Overall it was a great learning experience. Thanks for watching!

Your art is improving

Hey buuddddy! I like what you've done here, you've taken your old style and remixed it into your own, something i respect you for ;)

If there's one thing i notice with your animation, its that you're working with two's at 24 fps. I know this is a personal preference with animators, but might i recommend switching to two's with 30 fps?

Working with two's at 24 is like working on one's at 12 fps, and we all know that 12 fps looks choppy. Suffice to say, this video, while the animation was good, did look a bit choppy. Were you to up your framerate to 30, it would be like drawing one's at 15 FPS which looks a lot crisper and smoother.

This is just my personal opinion though, i hope it provided some insight.

Thanks! Guess it was worth taking that year break from animating to practice drawing.

And, nah, I'm actually working on four's in most cases (I KNOW, I KNOW). With three weeks and wanting to put out the most realistic animation that I can, I had to sacrifice the smoothness/frame rate. I was planning to go back later if I finished before the deadline, but well.

I'd totally do 30 fps, but the standard is 24 fps and I want to get as comfortable with the norm as I can (if that makes sense). Thanks for the tips, though!

Your camera and stylistic animation makes the series. A little advice though, if you want pure emotion that strays from anime, focus on realistic facial expressions.

Pretty good

As a first episode, it had a nice mix of action and comedy, especially when she said Good Choice, I was cracking up. Can't wait for the next installment.
