Did you always dream of being behind the wheel of these double decked marvels? Well here's your chance! Drive the famous London Bus today!

Ah yes. The Double Decker Bus.

I finished this short game: here's my review.

Okay, so you put bus stop points at the edges of some of the stages. The problem? You can crash into the edges as if the entire map is contained by a concrete wall.

You say to use the brakes? More like instant stop brakes. You literally go from max speed to 0 in less than a second.

I also love how it's your fault (and the game ends) if a pedestrian walks into the side of your bus. There's also the occasional stopped car in your lane. That roundabout with the horse-drawn carriage was particularly nasty.

I actually found it easier to drive backwards in some of the stages: the bus drives much slower, and thus makes for a smoother ride and better cornering.

Too bad it's hard to simulate accelerating and decelerating a vehicle with just a keyboard. The best you coulddo is make the acceleration and braking slower and smoother, like a real bus. (or at least, one of our American buses.) Otherwise, the player's basically going back and forth, just to clear a turn.

I'll give you some credit, though, because it is a complete and functional game with a different concept.

that last guy

captured my thoughts exactly... nice art and stuff, but it needs more work as far as having a point beyond just drive from a to b w/o crashing -- super easy if you are patient enough to take it slow, which I'm not -- and improved playability.

Nice job though..

Cool idea !

But it would be better with a map
or if you could go somewhere, or pick up more people
like a challenge or objective in the game

Graphis are very well done, but it needs more work as game
