Memoir: Text Adventure

Author Comments

A simulation of life. Go through life as someone else. Have relationships with virtual people, apply for a job without the boredom.

The challenge is to get to age 130. Good job if you managed it.

btw I take inspiration from real lives and alter ego. I tried to make it as unique as possible and avoided using the same scenarios with either of them. But of course there are going to be similarities with either game.

If you want to stop the flashing images, press "toggle slideshow". It is as simple as that. For those who complain about dying too much, I'll explain how death works in this game.

At the beginning of the game you are assigned a health count in between 1-100. 1-10 is unhealthy and 11+ is healthy. You can die from the following.
1. Picking a choice that will either make you lose health or completely deplete it.
2. Having a job will make you lose health. Think of it as fatigue.
3. When you reach old age you will lose some health. This is so you can't get to age 130 so easily.

For those who want to know what the stats mean here you go. From lowest to highest:

This game brings back so many memories. 😊

i wanted to play globalthermonuclearwar.exe

Some funny stuff that happened:

1. I went to school during the beach party event, and I was the only one there. The teacher went along with the kids.

2. I thought that the words for the gravestone were going to be the amount of money I'd donate to charity, so I typed "20,000". Now everyone who would walk by my grave will be confused as hell.

Memoir Text Adventure was a creative masterpiece of a game. Iconic in that it helps prove that an enjoyable experience is not reliant on extravagant graphics but substance itself. The availability of choice and to control one's destiny is a desire we all innately posses, and one that is rather nicely crafted within this game.

I didn't know up until relatively recently that there were once plans to make a Memoir 2 game. But it seems like it was going to be quite a sequel.

I wonder what became of the author of this, what his goals are , his ambitions. I wonder how he's handling the pandemic on a more personal level. I wonder how he has evolved as a human being from 2009 to 2020. The world has changed a lot in a decade, and more is to come!

Stay safe and God Bless America.

Smh I've been playing this for hours. Who needs bitlife when we have this
