Not the best, but great idea, executed well, but the sprites could be smoother.
A really good shooter...
I really liked this game because of the solid gameplay and fluid controls with the mouse but also for the variety of weapons and the duels after each round. I only dipped my toes in the game (first two rounds and duels) but I'll immerse real soon.
Suggestion for sequel: A rail shooter in the spirit of Area 51 (but with a Western setting).
My heart sank when I saw that hiding was activated by moving the mouse, as in my experience it's too easy for this not to be done properly, not responding to the mouse etc. but you pulled it off, giving the player a unique cover system.
The aiming is accurate and responsive, the enemies, while samey, react well to being shot (very satisfying to nail a guy in motion and see him go flying), game looks good, and some interesting 'powerups' give the gameplay some spark.
The duel system was the a different take on it; a little fiddly at first, but third time was the charm. A good mix-up of gameplay.
Overall, highly enjoyable.
