How to Raise a Dragon

The dragon: a majestic and complex beast. How is it born? How does it live and die? Magus X. R. Quilliam's definitive work, "How to Raise a Dragon," describes all that is known about these great creatures.

In this game, you can choose every aspect of the life of a dragon, including its appearance, its abilities, and how it treats the humans around it. You can choose to become a wild guardian, a fiery tyrant, a necromantic scourge, and many other unique destinies.

I'm doing a game a month, and this is my June game! Includes an additional behavior that wasn't in the original release.

it was fun

but none of my dragons were ever able to breath anything.

Good and fancy.. but...

...Why don't you try furry animals next? Or some little-winged-cherry-flavoured flying pony?
I love the 8 bit graphics. And it was good.

Great, but could have been amazing

It's a great concept, but I would love to see it more fleshed out. Even though there are dozens of possible combinations to create your own unique "story", once we've played through it a few times, we've basically seen everything. I think this game would have been absolutely legendary if there were more gameplay to go along with your excellent design. Yes, the minimalism and charm work, but ultimately there's not much "game" here aside from walking around. The things you can do in the game's world feel insubstantial--eating magical herbs (and/or people) and using my breath powers on props aren't very exciting things to do.

I think it would be amazing if we could do more in the third stage of the game to really affect the world in multiple ways, or to play out the parts of the "story" that the game summarizes. If I'm the guardian of a a human settlement, wouldn't it be cool if I could defend that settlement from other humans (or dragons)? That sort of thing. You could really expand upon this project and make something even better than you have right now--maybe in a sequel, or an updated "1.5" release.

I was thinking to myself
"this game reminds me of another game i loved called the majesty of colours"
And then when i clicked your other submissions and it turns out you made that too...
I have to admit, I am a big fan. Amazing work.
